Hello, everyone, I am new to Lucid Dreaming and have studied the matter a lot the past few months and have been keeping a dream journal.
I am hoping to experince LD’s to obtain inspiration for songwriting (to me it sounds like an infinite amount of great inspiration).
Before ever reading about lucidty, I have head certain strange experiences right before going to sleep, but I woke up because it felt kind of like being dizzy, or as if I was falling somehow, so I got scared. Honestly, it was almost making me nauseous so I really cleared my mind and tried to get to sleep and eventually I did. Does this have any connection with LD?
Also, I am particularly concerned (read the title ) about having a frightening experience while lucid dreaming (i’m trying to stay away from having OBE just yet).
What exactly can happen that can freak me out?
It sounds to me as though you were on your way to having an OBE, though i’m not really sure as I’ve never had a full blown OBE, but I have had the same thing you had, also by accident. I believe it is very common and most people tend to snap out of it as soon as they realize it’s happening, I don’t think it’s really anything to worry about.
It’s related to LD. It sounds like the beginning of a WILD.
The best method would be to develop scary beliefs about LD’ing. But don’t come crying when you will succeed! You seem to be frightened by OBE’s. Why not to try?
Okay, last night I went to sleep with more confidence. I put on an episode of Stargate SG-1 so that there is some sound in the background to get me from slipping into a normal dream.
As I sat there with my eyes closed, the very same feeling of vibration began, but I kept saying to myself “focus on the stargate”, and I invisioned it in my mind to keep focused. I didn’t wake up in this stage because I was feeling the vibrations coming and I was still counscious, yay!! So I waited for what seemed like 3-4 minutes, and they got very very strong, it almost seemed like an earthquake, or as if I was trembling from fever (it was more like a pulse because they stopped for a second then came back again). I kept myself from waking up so that I could see where this is going, but for some reason I opened my eyes. After this I realized that my vision had been filled with colors and images, and my feet were very numb. My cat sat on me after that and I became fully motile.
I must say that I experienced pretty intense anxiety before going to sleep, because I was fixed on letting the vibes do whatever they do, and I was afraid what I was going to see would scare me. I am going to try again tonight, because I seem to be able to get these vibrations every night.
I also had 3 dreams I can fully remember without even writing them down (I woke up after each of them and spent like half an hour contemplating). In one of them I was actually a researcher studying LD’s.
about falling , there is some resources that say if you keep falling (it feels like you are going down deeper & deeper in to the big hole) and dont scare and countinue on that at last you will stop in the other world and some unthinkible things could happen .
when u r in the axact moment between awaking and falling sleep you feel falling ( thats a gap between waking life and dream world).
when you feel vibration just use rope method it will works well.
IMO, vibrations are quite classical when you practice WILD. No need to speak about OBE or another world. For most of the lucid dreamers, what you reach then is a lucid dream.
