Been trying MILD/Reality Check but it hasn't been working ?

The last few days I’ve been trying MILD/reality testing and so far i’ve had no luck inducing a lucid dream of any kind. I try to ask myself at least 10 times a day if I am dreaming or not and try to perform reality tests in hopes that it will carry on in my dreams and I will do the same. I’ve even put little post its up everywhere so when I walk by I will remember to ask myself “Am I dreaming” ? Also I tell myself when i am in bed that I will be dreaming soon and will know I am dreaming. No good.

Any suggestions on what I should be doing differently or adding to this technique?

The reality checks or RCILD tech is what has always worked best for me. Unfortunately it takes a lot of time for it to pay off. I do about 50-100 RC’s a day. The trick is to do it as much as possible so that it becomes a habbit, and then have that habbit transfer to your dreams. Do as many RC’s as possible a day and it will eventually happen.

Above all, be patient. It took more than a month for RCILD to pay off for me, but times vary from person to person. As far as MILD goes… well, I’ll leave that to someone else with a bit more experience with it.

You need your dreams to be life-like before your constant RCs will help you. If your brain still has the “passive viewing” of dreams, then you won’t have much luck. Start keeping a Dream Journal, so your brain knows that remembering and analyzing dreams is important. Once you have trained that, your brain will analyze waking life and both dreaming life, and you’ll see yourself doing RCs in your dreams.

When you wake up in the morning, immediately start figuring out what your dream was about, create some sort of time line for it, and try to think of as many details about it as you can. This is how you analyze things in waking life.

Hope this helps. If anything is unclear, let me know.
