Being tricked out of lucidity by your subconscious?

Well, I had my first proper high lucidity dream last night after accidentally using a combination of WBTB and WILD where I woke up during the night and fell straight back asleep again, but whilst keeping my mind slightly awake. Anyway, I found myself walking down the street, and I was saying to myself: ‘I’m lucid, aren’t I?’ It was so odd because it felt just as vivid as real life, and I felt really tingly in an odd kind of way, with the wind and everything. Anyway, I walked down the street, and I jumped up and hovered for a little while, but then - well, I kinda started to lose it. I tried the methods of staying asleep, but it was fading, and then, all of a sudden, I found I’d teleported back to my bed, so I thought I’d woken up, but it was just my subconscious tricking me out of it. Then some little dinosaur/gecko thing ran into my room and jumped on my bed, falling asleep on me like a little dog, which completely, I’m sad to say, distracted me from trying to lucid dream.

Anyway, after that slightly ramble-ish story, anyone else been tricked out of a lucid dream by their subconscious?

That was probably a FA, it seems that the job of FA is to trick us, I had many times FA and the problem is they feel so real that you can easily think that you’re actually in your own bed and that you just wake up… The thing to prevent this is to do RC immediately when you wake up, with time you will get a habit doing RC as the first thing when you wake up, whether that be in a dream or in LD!

Good luck!

Ahh, I see. I’ll try to get into the habit of more reality checks, I often forget, ahaha. xD Thank you.

Also, I think the word there is “distracted”. Whenever I’m lucid, my enemy is not waking up, being tricked into waking up, or getting scared. It is distraction. I fly a bit, feel the wid a bit, and then get disctracted by whatever, and get sucked back into normal dreaming.

What can I say? Practice, I’d guess.
