Hey everyone im kinda new to this site so im sorry if this is on the wrong board.
Basically im 13 and i get up quite early for school (6:30am) and i obviously live with my parents so i cant really wake up in the night unless i use a mantra which hasnt been very successful haha
Are there any techniques that work better for trying right before you sleep? i know WILD isnt the best for practising before you sleep but ive been trying anyway.
thank you
I’ve had success a couple of times with a variant of VILD, wherein you devise an extremely specific scene and play it over and over again every night until you go to sleep.
Pointers that have been helpful for me:
- The scenario takes place in your dreamland and involves becoming lucid. I like to choose the setting of a particularly vivid and recent dream that I’ve had.
- The scenario specifically involves things you want to do when you’re lucid. For example, create a scene where you and a friend/DC/DG/whatever visit another planet together, or teach each other how to fly, etc.
- You can vary on the scene if you like, but it should remain more or less consistent: then it has a better chance of sticking in your brain once you’ve fallen asleep.
I know it seems like it could be quite dull, but after about a week or so you the scene should start appearing in your dreams and prompt you to do a reality check (I had MUCH more success if I included a reality check in the initial scenario); or, if you involve a dream character, they might appear as you slip into sleep and help guide your scenario towards a dream.
Hope this helps; I’m not extremely experienced and this is just one way, but I’d like to know if it’s useful to others~!
Thanks, I will work on that!
DILD also works. It got me all my LDs so far. All you need do do is do RC’s, and at night you just sleep!
