Bipolar Dream Recall

Hey guys! :content: So, I generally have very good dream recall, and can write about 3 or 4 dreams a night. But sometimes, I have periods of time where I remember little to no dreams, and what I do remember is just a fragment or a picture. I’m in one of those periods now. Any advice on how to improve my dream recall would be much appreciated.

Ooh, and I’m not sure if this would help, but the past few days I haven’t been attempting any of the lucid dreaming methods. I’ve been very busy and very tired, so I just wanted to sleep. Thanks!

Same thing happens to me too.

Not sure how your sleep schedule works but I usually don’t have anything to do in the mornings because my classes start later in the day. I set my alarm for around 9:00 A.M. I usually go to bed around 1:00 A.M. When I wake up to the alarm I can barely remember any dreams but I just set it for another 30 minutes and then go back to bed. I usually do this 1-2 more times for 30 minute cycles. I have been doing this for the past 2 weeks and usually I can recall dreams that happen after the alarm. For instance, this morning I woke up from the alarm and then set it for an hour after and then another 30 minutes and I could recall three very vivid, pretty long dreams.

No need to worry about your DR, you’ll get it back sooner or later anyway.

I believe that this is actually the reason why you don’t have a good DR at the moment. Stress or worries of any kind are the absolute killers of sleep, dreams and DR. And if you just want to sleep, you don’t really want to remember your dreams I guess, therefore you didn’t.

Make sure to keep your DJ on a steady basis, do a mantra before going to sleep, motivate yourself and enjoy each and every dream (-fragment) you can remember.
