For some reason, my dreams have become really dull, boring and urban lately.
I think this started a year ago or something.
When i mean “boring” dreams, i mean…i could literally dream of talking to a friend of mine in a tram.
Everything is NORMAL. I’m not in a video game, movie or completely different planet/realm. I’m being in the places i visit EVERY SINGLE DAY. (which is usually a tram which i commute to school every day, school itself etc)
I mean, take a look at GHOSTIE11’s DJ for example (chose his DJ because i know him rather well). Either he dreams of Göteborg in general (which he doesnt mind at all), or he dreams of Halo 3! (or any other videogame he might play)
What might be causing my boring dreams, you ask?
I have been told that a lack of imagination might be the cause.
True, since the only 2 things i daydream of are girls(…)(not too attractive ones, may i add) and how much i suck.
Other reasons might be me paying SO MUCH attention to reality itself. (SRV’s theory)
If i can’t have interesting/ever-so-slightly unrealistic ND’s, then how the Super Mario Långben will i ever be able to have even remotely interesting LD’s? (if ANY LD’s at all!)
If you can, I would say to get your hands on the original Super Mario Bros. Movie.
A trailer is here. The movie is quite trippy. It inspired a lot of… interesting dreams for me anyhoo.
do you watch much TV? I find when I watch TV or something different, I get weird dreams.
Once, someone hit our parked car while we were at Radio Shack. That night, I watched Gilligan’s Island, and it was the episode about sliverware and plates being made of explosives.
That night I had a dream that a witch drove a truck, whose doors would fall off and explode. It was quite weird lol. And sorry for rambling! ^^;
Since most of our dreams are based on the information and thoughs our brains have gathered during the waking life, it’s quite clear in my oppinion that you’re not paying enought attention on fictional works.
Playing a videogame or reading a book for two hours whitout trying to feel involved in them won’t do anything.
Eg. Playing Halo 3 while thinking about that hot girl you like at your school won’t trigger a Halo 3 dream since you haven’t really been thinking about the game itself.
Part off the reason why Ghostie11 have such dreams is that he’s still young and having a lot of imagination by focusing on the games and perhaps daydreams about being in other worlds.
So basicly…daydream about fictional worlds (in wich you may find lots of girls if you can’t resist) and try to feel more involved in the games, books and movies by imaginating that you’re inside them and pays attention to details. Games such as Oblivion are a good start since they allow a lot of exloration and role-play. Alltought a generic “FPS” also works as long as you dont’t mindlesy shot everything and just “want to finish the game”.
Looking at pictures that resembles these fictional worlds can also increase chances that you’ll experience dreams in unfamiliar places.
Btw, spend less time thinking on how much “you suck” and more on nice fictional worlds.
Good for you and your dreams.

(Now my fingers hurts since typing on a SE M600s keypad for several minutes takes its toll)
My imagination is INSANE, and I still get boring dreams… they’re normal, they’re just a way to unwind, relax and reflect. Don’t worry about them, and worry about recalling them, as the more dreams you recall, the more likely you are to recall a lucid one… Good luck!
Well, since you were talking about me here I just want to tell that even if I play a lot of videogames (currently Fallout 3), I still have most of my dreams at same boringness as araby. I cant say how my dream variate from day to day, but if you want to know, follow this link to my DJ (only the last pages though).
