Brain Waves

Hello :cheesy:

I had this idea last night, I think when I was going to sleep, about intending to sustain/produce brain waves. Sometimes, I feel like my mind is taking the form like a stilling pond and I realize it and it’s like tossing a stone through that pond.

I think an idea that would be helpful for a number of possibilities (WILD, HI, sustaining lucidity, meditation, goal-setting, focus, becoming familiar with the non/semi-thinking mind and probably a lot of other things, too), would be noticing the brain waves (or brain/mind “feeling”) that your brain is gravitating toward and trying to sustain it, help it along, and help it develop. or, i suppose, with experience, knowing the different types and inducing certain ones when beneficial.

this has the feeling to me, or a stilling pond that can tolerate a stone tossed through it without becoming terribly rippled.

thoughts?

I think I might have made the first post too cluttered.

Here’s the idea:

  1. Become aware of a mental state that interests you.

  2. Try and sustain that mental state.

“Interests” is vague, but I guess that’s up to you. I practiced this last night, where I would let my mind roam and when it touched on a mental state I thought unique or worth pursuing, I tried to sustain that state. I got more intense hypnagogic than I generally do, but did not WILD (it was before the first sleep cycle though). The state I initially tried to sustain led to another, etc. I’ll give this another shot and see how it goes.
