I havent tried yet, but it seems obvious to me that anything that will help your memory in RL, or help you become more lucid and conscious in real life, as breathing excercises do, taht it would help your dreaming out, to say the least. Are there any of you who practice the “Sacred Geometry” or anything of the sort, tuning in with the chakras and all. Ive been VERY interested in this recently, meditation, and breathing techniques, and i was wodnering if any of you use this to your advantage on the dreamscape…
i would also like to know waht has been the most invaluable source of information on your techniques…
I have not practiced any particular named technique, but I have developed my own technique to increase control and awareness during and LD by breathing short, quick breaths, almost to the point of hyperventilation. I’ve developed this after having several nightmarish type dreams where I have learned to defend myself instinctually using what some people might characterize as magic or supernatural powers. I don’t like to delve into it though because from my own experience, these types of dreams tend to escalate and I feel as if I am somehow opening “doors” to what I can only characterize as spiritual attacks.
In order to calmly (versus panic-stricken or fear-filled) into LD sleep, I often do deep breathing exercises before and while falling asleep. This tends to relax me and prepare my mind for inevitable lucidity (I LD almost every time I sleep and almost instantly upon falling asleep).
