brownmans MILD tutorial

.t.

You speak truth, I’ve been stupid enough to use such a thechnique to wake me up at a desired time of night to use WBTB instead of lucid dreaming. and it really works. I tryed to MILD last night but my sentence was too long and I got lost in my thoughts.

great tutorial!

I think I’ve to correct many errors in this tutorial. First, it’s not MILD which is described, it’s autosuggestion. For MILD, please see the LD4all Lucid Dreaming Guide.

Second, I never would recommend to try WILD first. WILD is for very few people, mainly people who can fall asleep quickly and naturally experience HH (or better, SP). Most of the people who try WILD don’t get results, they just discourage thus they are not able to get LD’s by other means cause they’ve lost confidence and motivation.

Now about the sentence : ‘‘I will fall asleep and dream. This dream will be fully lucid and I will be in total control’’, I see many problems in it. First, it’s not necessary at all to say “I will fall asleep and dream” cause it will happen anyhow. Thus it’s making a long sentence when you can have a shorter.

As for the suggestion part of the sentence, it’s not good at all to use the term “lucid”. It’s a common beginners error. It makes the term “lucid” appears in your dreams but you often don’t realize it’s a dream. It’s even worse for beginners who never have experienced lucidity and don’t know what is it. So that it’s better to use a sentence like “I’ll realize I’m dreaming” which is clearer.

As for repeating the sentence until you fall asleep, though LaBerge recommends this, I’m unsure it’s good for everybody. It may work for many people but very often it has just given to people insomnia. If you experience this problem, you have to know that repeating the sentence, say, 20 times also works.
