Can anyone be driven mad by that?

Question moved into the First Steps forum cause it will mainly interest beginners.

Hi!

I´ve been always interested in dreams and all around it and when I found out that lucid dreaming exists, I was absolutelly fascinated! :user:

But I wonder if there can be any danger…if it can drive anyone mad, for example if one is too excited of all this stuff and won´t be able to see the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness after some time.

Does anybody know about that case?

Well, i didnt heard anything like that. The biggest danger i have heard that is having LDs even when you dont want to have them. But it passes if you want to not having LD’s.

I dont get it…

Did You wanted to say that someone gets unconsciousness in real life ?

Well… I never heard about something like that. LD’s are safe. And fun =].

Just remember that you have real life. And it is most important. LD’s are fun thing, but they cant be sense of life.

I get mad sometimes when I can’t maintain an LD!

Otherwise, the general consensus is that you’re not going to have a problem unless you already have a tenuous grip on reality to begin with.

It all depends on how you see LDing. You can’t see it as escapism. LDing is not meant as a way to avoid real life. Other than that, I don’t think there’s any possible harm

O, I’ve just seen one case up to now and it’s very recently. By the way, I still don’t understand how it’s possible.

I agree with Artie J. Unless they already have mental troubles, people don’t confuse dreams and reality. And it even seems that a few people here are schizophrenics and they don’t experience such problems.

It’s only dangerous if you already have a hard time keeping track of reality. For example, if you are a skitzophrenic person.

Otherwise lucid dreaming is a very fun and mentally healthy experience, so enjoy!
