I cannot stress enough how much you need this book. Journeys out of the Body by Robert Monroe is certainly a must read for you aspiring APers.

EDIT: They seem to have removed it, and now only allow you to read the first two chapters. In order to do so you need to join some stupid mailing lists and it’s much more trouble than it’s worth. This site is no longer recommended.
Lastly, the ultimate source for this topic seems to be www.astralsociety.com which I thought went under but didn’t. Who knew?
Remember this though: inducing OBEs is a sketchy subject right now and all you really need is a general guideline and then to experiment from there. Like LDing, there is no technique that will work for everyone. Feel free to slightly deviate from any of the methods you find. Also, remember that there is no danger in Astral Projecting and any evil entities you meet were attracted by your own negative vibrational frequency. Stick to the Etheric planes for a start and if you ever reach the Buddhic plane, PM me with the cool things you see.
