Well, the title is pretty self-explanatory:
can WILD attempts during the night increase your chances to turn lucid during a Normal Dream, even if the actual WILD itself is unsuccessful?
My logic here is that you are more aware than normal when you try the WILD technique, so maybe this will affect your awarenesss in a regular dream so you can more easily become lucid from there instead?
I’ve actually tried WILD when I go to sleep a few times, and sometimes this has made my dreams a lot easier to remember and also turned into low-level Lucid Dreams a few times (basically dreams where I have felt that something is not right and where I have actively tested the surroundings).
Yes! I’ve had that happen to me many times, actually. That’s one reason why trying WILD at the start of the night isn’t a total waste of time But it’s not garanteed. Maybe if you put to much effort into the WILD and take hours to fall asleep you’ll get too tired and won’t get lucid, for example… But from my personal experience I always seem to be able to bring a little awareness from the failed WILD into my ND’s.
WILD is generally Lucid Dreaming. It can bring up a topic of Lucid Dreaming in your dreams, which can lead to RCs and all that.
I have had a lot of WILD attempts which in themselves failed. I fell asleep. HOWEVER, within the dream I’m still thinking about attempting WILD’s, and, quite frankly, ‘succeed’ with them. And most of the time in my dreams my paralyzing effect kicked in already. (unless in my legit WILD successes, where I jerked out of bed trying to perform any action in a dream)
Just had this case this morning. I decided to try WILD but I just couldn’t get through with it and fall asleep. I was in a dream and it was classical DILD, after some time I realized that I’m dreaming…
