Can you experience SP while falling asleep at night?

When i went to bed last night at 12. I thought to my self, i’m going to keep still and not move at all while i fall asleep.(I wanted to try and get into SP) After 10 minutes or so, I started to feel like someone was laying more blankets on me and they were getting heavier, and after a while i couldn’t feel my feet. Is this SP?

according to multiple sources, SP can occur before or after sleep, and that cataplexy is when it comes in just whenever.

I won’t answer the other question.

That sounds exactly like SP to me, it normally feels like a hevy blanket being laid on and then after a while a numbness spreads upwards from the feet. Now all you need to do is stay aware of yourself falling asleep

Yeah, as mentioned earlier it’s defintely possible to achieve SP before sleep, but it’s much harder at night because of sleep cycles, hence why WILDs are done during a WBTB. It would be interesting if someone tried a WILD before sleep, and if that’s the case, good luck

I’ve been practicing WILD before going to sleep, as well as with WBTB and during afternoon naps. At night time I get as far as my eyes twitching uncontrollably, the rest of my body has gone numb, and I’ve felt my breathing go from controlled to automatic, which is a big step for me cause it is a rather freaky thing to go through. But after my eye twitching I seem to become fully awake instead of going into a dream.
Same when I do this at 4AM. I think I have better results during the afternoon, but fate has always intervened (outside noises that even seem to penetrate my noise-control headset.)
