I’ve been trying for a long time to have a lucid dream. I did have one a few months ago where I was in a city at night, all the buildings were dark gray and looked like they were made of clay, and there was some pizza shop where the whole front of the store was a window. That’s all I remember from it, and it was the first lucid dream I had. I don’t know how I became lucid, but I somehow knew I was dreaming (I think I looked at my palms, which looked cloudy). I didn’t remember to do anything fun, and it just felt like I knew I was dreaming, but I was just going to let the dream happen. So I basically watched myself dream, and I lost lucidity pretty quickly.
Last night, I had another strange dream. I was going to school, about to park, when some girl jumped in my car, sat on me, put the car in reverse and floored it. The car moved back even though the clutch was totally disengaged and I had the brakes on. So I pushed her out and kept backing up for some reason. The next thing I noticed was that I was looking down from a bird’s eye view, and the entire school layout was different, and there were 4 separate parking lots. I went back to a first person view, and as I was walking up these steps that were never there before, I thought “Maybe I’m dreaming.” I looked at my palms, felt lots of stuff around me, but everything seemed real. I don’t know how I knew, but I did know I was dreaming. Probably from the car moving, the parking lots being different, and the stairs that were never there.
So I was having a lucid dream, and I appeared on this really high up ledge, which was basically a forest on a really high cliff overlooking the school. I remember 2 of my friends being there, and thinking about the stuff I should do. I thought about flying and doing lots of exciting stuff you could only do in a dream, but I never did. I just “watched” my dream again, but this time I stayed lucid for the rest of the dream. I knew I was dreaming, but didn’t do anything about it.
I rarely ever get lucid dreams, and they just seem to be random and very rare. The problem is that when I do know I’m dreaming, I forget to do the fun things I want to do in a dream. Anyone have any suggestions that might help me remember to have fun?
And sorry that was so long. Short version: I can’t remember to do fun things in lucid dreams.
