Most nights I will lay down with the intent to WILD, I’ve entered SP once before on my first attempt about a month ago, but was woken up by my sister before I could fully enter a dream.
Now, I can’t even enter SP. I will lay there for 15 or so minutes with the intent of remaining conscious while calm and breathing correctly etc. then end up falling asleep at some point.
Are there any specific techniques I could try to remain conscious without messing up the process of entering SP?
I’m having a very hard time too. I just cant get lucid even following my plan (explained on other topic). Nevertheless, in you case it seems that you just tried WILD. What about MILD?
I’ve tried MILD, I’ve even applied it while trying WILD just in case I were to fall asleep. No luck. Same with FILD. I’ve also tried with videos, like guided WILD, and binaural beats a few times. Every time I’ve been lucid it was because something happened that made me realize I was in the dream.
Here’s your answer. Keep with that, use MILD instead WILD. Integrate awareness techniques into your daily routine and you will have success.
I’m not saying that you should stop practicing WILD, by all means keep at it but if your results are telling you specific story then listen to it…
Also when attempting WILD, SP is really not something that you need, SP might occur before falling asleep or immediately after waking up but SP actually is happening while you sleep. So when you experience SP before falling asleep or after waking up and extreme cases. Sure you can teach yourself to induce SP but it’s a though work which will just prevent you from actually having lucid dreams because your whole focus you will put into SP and not dreams as you should…
