Can't remember at all

I’ve tried lucid dreaming for a few days now. The two first days I remembered a bit more of my dream. Day before yesterday and yesterdayI tried WILD, but that didn’t work. I have a nerv in pinch in my leg, so it’s very uncomfortable for me, so I went over to MILD both nights. When I woke up both of these mornings I haven’t remembered ANYTHING of my dreams, not even a little bit. Has been so two nights a row. Could it be that I did anything wrong? Maybe it isn’t good trying WILD first but then go to MILD direct after? Or maybe it was just something that can happen to anybody?

“Few days now”

Oh please. A non-lucid dreamer should take at least 21 days (developing RC habits) to become lucid.

Try to meditate, use the mantra “I will recall my dreams” and use that for your sleep mantra as well.

You main problem isn’t lucid dreaming right now, it’s recalling.

Oh I’m sorry then. I just didn’t know if it was something I was doing wrong or not.

Object is right (although he did state it quite aggressively). Dream recall is very important. Not only because even if you do manage to have lucid dreams you won’t remember them, but you won’t be able to recognize the differences between waking and dreaming. And there is no strict time-line you must follow. 21 days, 30 days, 2 weeks, however long it takes you to feel comfortable moving to the next step. What works for one may not work for all. So, there are many topics here about improving your dream recall. Have a look through them if you’re serious about lucid dreaming, you will improve your recall. That’s the easiest part of the journey! The next step would be to find and cultivate the best technique for your own person. And, when you finally feel comfortable doing that, you can begin your lucid adventures!

Thanks. I was just unsure, because I mixed the two ways and thought that maybe wasn’t good. Or something. I dont know how to explain  but of course I’m aware of that it could take some time, it was just that I was a bit curious and didn’t know exactly. So I’m sorry if I sounded as if I thought I would remember and being able to get a lucid dream directly, it wasn’t like that. I just wondered if it can be a bad effect by first doing WILD and then MILD directly after. Nothing else. But thanks anyway, I will think of my dream recall.

Well, I can at least give you some helpful tips on two things that might help you in becoming Lucid.

  1. Reality Checks: there are so many topics here on reality checks, but I’ve been reading a lot about them and I’ve found out a few things that aren’t really mentioned (not sure why, because these are quite popular books and I assume many people have read them). When doing your reality check, and you have confirmed that you are not dreaming, imagine yourself as though it was a dream. What would you do if it WERE a dream? Play these scenes out, keep an eye out for your dream signs while doing so. Every time you do a reality check, it will become more and more ingrained into your mind that you are going to be dreaming. Helpful tips

  2. MILD: This is a fascinating method for inducing LD. However it requires an amount of motivation and willpower. You will also need to be able to REMEMBER. not just dreams, but just remembering. There is an excellent method of cultivating memory outlined in “Exploring Lucid Dreaming” by Stephen LaBerge. For fear of copyright infringement I shan’t repeat it here. But basically you make a list of 4-5 things to do in a day, and then do an RC during this event, every day, if you fail to realize the first sign, you have failed the event for that day. Keep doing this every day until you can make most of your targets.

Best of luck, and may your dreams be filled with awareness.
