Coffee and dreams!

Hello guys. I would just like to advise you to NOT drink alot of coffee if drink it at all. Rather drink tea or maybe even soft drinks with caffeine.

Coffee is really unhealthy for u. Several scientists have mentioned this, however that is not the main reason why i advise u against it.

For several years i was a heavy coffee drinker myself and i got a little bit addicted to it.
I wouldnt really mind being addicted to it, but i could feel it really damaged my health. I actually have a couple of small health problems because of it.
Even now i need some caffeine almost every day, which i get from tea.

someone was asking about caffeine dosages…

Oral Caffeine Dosages

Threshold 10 - 20 mg
Common 50 - 150 mg
Strong 150 - 400 mg
Heavy 400 + mg
LD50 (Lethal Dose*) 192 mg/kg in rats

Onset : 5 - 10 minutes
Duration : 1.5 - 5 hours
Normal After Effects : up to 24 hours

  • LD50 = dose which will kill 50% of the tested animals. It is estimated that fatal doses for humans are between 1 and 4 grams of caffeine, depending on body weight and tolerance.

Hope that helps! I personally am going to try it tonight.

I have found that it’s best to take it in the morning and pills are better because it takes much longer before they are released into your body and I think it’s released much slower. And it seems like it’s better not to swallow it with too much water because the more water you drink the faster the body absorbs the caffine.

I tried it this morning while I did a short WBTB. I took about 50 mg and I did get a lucid dream and for some reason I felt great when I woke up later. I can’t remember that last time I have slept that well. It could be a coincidence because the last time I tried it I couldn’t really sleep that well.

Tried caffine again today. It does seem to help with WILDing :cool_laugh: I did WBTB after sleeping for about 6 hours and then I was up for about 30 minutes before taking the caffine and going back to bed. I maganed to WILD twice this morning, I will deffinately try this again tomorrow

Some scientests also claim that coffee can benefit the health, when you drink it in moderate amounts.

Yes im sorry, my post wasnt clear enough. MODERATE is the keyword. As long as u just drink a little coffee it shouldn’t be a problem, even though i dont think its actually healthy.

Hiall!

I am working nights so I need to rely on coffe to be able to wake up each morning, and sometimes while at work to stay awake. :bored:

I was reading in here that coffe will make your DR poorer and also your chaces of having LD’s. Yet I also read that others benefit from it in the opposite manner.

Does anyone know if this apply when drinking coffe in the morning only, or is this talk about drinking coffe as a “tool” to help lucidity for those who has tried it?

All input appreciated! :gni:

Many thanks! :ok:

PS! my DR is quite good, always been.

I was, to some degree still am, a heavy coffee drinker, used to work at a coffee shop, so I have alot of experience with long-term use of coffee and tea. The effects on dreaming can be extremely variable, some nights I will have excellent recall, some poor, some nights I will sleep like a baby, sometimes I can’t sleep well at all.

One interesting thing to do is if you find yourself in a position where you have consumed quite a bit of caffeine, a few hours before attempting this (it is best if you are actually coming down off the caffeine buzz in order to be able to actually sleep instead of just day-dream) is to really relax your body (meditation while laying down is preferable), then dream incubate until it works, can take a little while because of the caffeine but let your imagination run wild until you feel yourself falling asleep and then run through your predesignated dream intro or until you are fully caught up in what your imagination is doing.
I don’t really advise this unless you were already ingesting coffee/tea/caffeine pills that evening/night or if you don’t have something to do the next day (like that is ever true), but it can be interesting.

Like I said this is definately not something to make into a regular lucid dream induction habit, I can’t emphasize this enough, but it can be fun every once in a while, you may be surprised at how active you find your imagination even after the initial effects of the caffeine have worn off.

Interesting side note: coffee is the number 2 American import, behind oil (and people wonder why Americans are always in a rush  )

I forgot about this method(thread), I havent tried it in forever.

Has anyone come up with good results?

Im buying coffee:)
