Last night, I tried my first attempt at lucid dreaming. I sort of used a combination of WILD and MILD, trying to stay awake while in the REM stage by constantly thinking “'I’m going to have a dream and remember that I’m dreaming.” I got somewhere around the tactile sensations part, when everything just stopped. No more hypnagogic imagery, nothing. I figured I must now be in a lucid dream, so I opened my eyes and did a few reality checks. I was awake. What am I doing wrong
?? Thanks for any help!
It could have been a combination of things… I suggest to just keep working at it… and eventually things should start to come naturally… Also, if you have not I would try to follow dream signs, RC’ing in dreams, etc to DILD. That way you can experience a lucid state while in a dream before trying to flow to one from awake to LD. That way you will know when you are in an LD isntead of having to question it… if that makes sense.

Well, I liked the WILD method because I often meditate, and I am good at concentrating my thoughts. I also thought that using some of the MILD stuff might help too, just as a fallback. Just a few hours ago (I’m on GMT -5 time.) I tried using this guide: dreamviews.com/community/sho … php?t=9806 to help me WILD, and I was confused by why I was not having any hypnogogic imagery. There were no pulses of light, no dream pictures, etc. Nothing. I did though get some tactile sensations, but they didn’t feel like the electric shock kind of stuff that happened last time. I think they might actually be my hands falling asleep
. I’m also going to try LucidWarp, because that is supposed to be good. Anyway, thanks for the advice!
