Consulting the experts. (a bit long)

:help:
Let me explain the situation. I’ve been trying to LD for about 10months. I’ve tried every tech. I come across and when I felt I was wanting it TOO much, I took a 3 week break. I figure if anyone could give me a little insight on this you can.

I’m one of those people that when they lay down at night they’re asleep within mins. I’ll close my eyes and within seconds I’ll start to see HI and 1 min after that…poof…out cold. I do RC when I remember, less than I should no doubt, but I’m working on that. Let me tell you first I cannot do WBTB my fiance’ works nights and if the alarm goes off too early…run, run as fast as you can. :woah:

With that out of the way let me tell you what I have done a bit more in depth.

MILD “Tonight I will have a lucid dream, I will remember my dream in the morning.” I say that untill I fall asleep. It helps abit with recall but not with becomming lucid.

WILD like I said I fall asleep FAST. After I close my eyes (almost right after) I’ll either start to see HI or feel my body floating. Some times the floating sensation becomes so real I feel like I’m gonna hit the ceiling. Then like that I wake up in the morning.

I felt a little gifted. I figured that if I fall asleep this quick WILD should be the way to go. I guess I was wrong. I don’t wan’t you to get me wrong I’m not complaining just feeling a little lost thats all. I have had One LD. I was dreaming and out of no where I stopped and said “this is a dream” and like that I became lucid. That was months ago.

So now that you know more about my sleeping habbits and what I can and cannot do. i am compleatly open for suggestions, and will take everyone advise seriously. Thank you all very much for your very valuable input.

If you get HI and/or floating sensation when going to sleep, just keep focusing on it while falling asleep. If you keep at it long enough you should be able to WILD  I didn’t even get HI when I first started trying to LD, but since then I’ve even managed to WILD directly from HI

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try to concentrate more with WILD but could you clear something up for me? I’ve heard two differant things about HI. Do you focous on the HI or do you try to think of something else?
thanks alot

About MILD: as you remember correctly your dreams, you should change your sentence. Suppress the “remember” part. Then, instead of saying “a lucid dream”, what is fuzzy, be more precise: “Tonight, I will realize I’m dreaming”.

About WILD: Paul Tholey said WILD is well adapted for people who fall asleep very quickly and see HI. You’re going very far in WILD. The only problem is that you lose consciousness. What technique are you using in order to maintain it through the whole process?

Well there are kind of 2 sorts of HI. When you first get HI you usually only see colors or strange patterns moving around. After a while you start getting images.

When I see the HI they are the colors and patterns, then when they start to form into images I fall asleep.

:uh: Good question. I’m not sure what the best way is. Sometimes I focus on the HI while trying to stay awake and other times I’ll ignore the it and try to think of something else. What do you recomend?

Thanks for the tip. I will definately try this instead of the other way.

You guys are doing a great job, keep 'em comming. I’m realy starting to narrow down the methods I’ll be using for the best chances of LD’s. You’ve helped me so much already!

If you fall asleep very quickly, you should try a more mental method, like counting or repeating a sentence. It will help you to stay focused.

Just the second kind is called hypnagogic imagery. The little fuzzy colored dots are called phosphenes or entoptics.
