So recently I got my alarm clock back out and set it to 3*90+15-45 (So that when it goes off I am already in REM)
Well now every night I wake up 2-3 hours before the time to WBTB, to compound this I stay part away and part asleep (Falling in and out) until the time for WBTB comes up. Then I usually just unplug the stupid thing and can go to sleep fine.
Could I just be expecting this too much and it causing me to wake up, I was thinking of not doing WBTB tonight (As I have not done it at all because I think the results will be improper if I have insomnia) But I really want to.
I like to think I have graduated this sub-forum but every once in a while I come up with a question I figured you people could help with.
Well it’s a perfectly normal thing you guys are experiencing. Expectation and anticipation activates the brain and inserts adrenaline into the blood, this will make it harder to fall asleep.
You will have to find ways to trick your mind into lucid dreaming. Like MILD or WILD!
Yes, I guess it’s similar to automatically waking early to go to work and then remembering it’s your day off.
If it does become a problem, then something like WILD or VILD might be better for you. Or perhaps setting the alarm for different times each night so your brain doesn’t get too used to being woken at one particular time.
