couldn't do anything in LD

hi everyone,

I had a Lucid dream last night, and I used a combination of FILD and WILD. I was in my room, and I tried to shoot fire, but it failed. Also going through a wall/ window didn’t work. Basically everything I tried, failed. Do you have some advice for me? Have you ever had this?
I am sorry for my bad grammar, I’m dutch

love, Lillyth.

I’ve had this too. I realize I’m dreaming but nothing out of the ordinary works. No magic, no supernatural powers, nothing that can be done in the real world. I can’t get over it either.
I don’t have any idea right now but if anyone else does please let us know.

Hello

The secret of being able to do everything in LDs is believing that you can do it without any doubt.

Don’t let your worries, doubts or fears to block your powers there.

For example, if you want to fly, just believe you can do it, jump and fly!
If you think you can’t in midair, you may fall down…

When I had my first LD, I could do anything. Why? Because I could, just like you can easily move your fingers, you can fly and go through that wall, because you were born with that, don’t believe, no, be! You are you, and you are capable of whatever you wish, don’t think: “I will try and go through that wall”, just go through it!

It’s all about convincing your subconscious that this things can happen: if you are a little skeptic even while dreaming, then it probably won’t work.

One hack is to shout in the dream “cheat mode enabled!”, “super-powers activate!” or anything along that. Direct orders to your own subconscious seem to be very effective

I think you are thinking too logical x.x. Same thing happened to me on my first LD, just tell yourself you can do anything in your dream world. Its your own world which your brain created.
If it still doesn’t work start saying out loud what you want like “i will walk through the mirror and go to atlantis”, it will definitely work.

Well, all of these guys have pretty much said it, but i also wanted to add something. If all of the above doesn’t work, don’t worry. How do you want everything to work on your first try? Give it time, and most importantly - don’t worry about it. In my two first LDs i couldn’t talk to anyone even, cause all the world froze when i realized i was dreaming. In my third one i had no powers either. Then the next ones were really short. But now i can do a lot of things in dreams. Just give your mind time to get used to it! If lucid dreaming is very new to you, it’s perfectly normal that you can’t do many things yet. Go out and just explore the world for now  and give it time.
To sum up - the main things are confidence and relaxation. And patience

I had an LD last night and it was one of my best yet. I was very lucid and trying all kinds of things. But I kept trying to fly and would always fail. I could get to a certain height but it was more gliding than flying. So instead of trying to convince myself that I could do it just looked at a vehicle nearby and said ‘There’s a jetpack in that truck that I will use to fly’. I walked over there and grabbed it out of the back of the pickup (had to pull it away from someone else who was trying to get it). I strapped it on and then started flying. I didn’t have to think about controls or anything I just knew that I could fly since I had a jetpack on my back.

So maybe if you create/find a technology that would help you make fire or walk through walls then you will have better luck.

Happens to me every time. Three things can fix this: practice, motivation and effort.

I, for example, can’t take anymore care of LD’ing because I’m leading a really stressful life, which won’t allow me to write in DJ, practice methods really well (etc.).

I know that if I would but my mind up to it (after I get some good free time) I’ll really rise up the level of my LD frequency and quality and “controlability” .

So you see ? It’s all about practice. Do more writing in writing in your DJ, try some MILD - just keep your mind busy with LD’ing, and you’ll see the results - trust me

Good luck !

I had a smaller scale of it where i couldn’t fly but i think its from not quite imagining it right

Its a issue of mind over matter, will vs logic ^^ There are no rules in the dreamscape other than what you and your subconcious make, your god in your dreams; you just have to find a way to tap into it ^^

A personal example. The first time i LD’d i went flying, just through will. No wings, no superman style or jetpacks, just forcing myself through the sky (if you’ve ever seen Neo flying in the matrix films, like that). The only problem was, i couldn’t make myself go as fast as i wanted! I tried everything, changing my pose, trying to tell myself to go faster, trying to imagine where i wanted to go…but none of it worked.
Eventually i found a way that worked for me, i just didn’t think about, instead i focused on the feeling of it; the air and landscape rushing past as i went supersonic, but i didn’t try to think of how to do it…i just let go and did it

Thats just my own personal technique anyway, find one that works for you, just dont give up ^^

As morpheus said in the matrix, don’t think you can…know you can

To quote Yoda “Do or do not… there is no try.”

Basically you have to get rid of any mind barriers you have in real life and realize that in a dream everything is possible and it will flow by itself.
