I usually have a lot of lucid dreams, but most of them are very low quality. In them, I realize I’m dreaming, and then sort of fade in and out of lucidy. It gets to a point where, when I’m writing it in my dream journal, the dream has had so low lucidy it’s hard for me to tell where I lost consciousness.
How do I change this? Usually, when I realize I’m dreaming, I don’t really think much of it. The lucidness is so low that I just sort of think, Hey, cool, I’m dreaming! and then go on with the dream. It’s not clear at all, it’s like I’m looking at a TV screen.
Help?!? I can’t enjoy my lucid dreams when they are so low quality!!!
You need to have a good reason to hang on to lucidity the first times, and carry out that reason in the dream. If you want to fly, then resolve to fly, and keep that thought in your head when you get lucid, it will help you keep consciousness and reach higher levels of lucidity.
Remember that you can also practice lucidity IWL; just resolve it will be a dream for the day, and see how long can your lucidity last
What I think he meant (correct me if i’m wrong) that during the day pretend you are lucid and see for how long you can remember that you are lucid before you forget it.
I have this problem at times as well, although it’s a little different for me. One example in particular that I can remember…

I was walking up a very long spiral staircase, and I thought to myself, “It would be awful if there were gaps in the floor,” and then it happened. I was afraid, so I tried to think of something silly to make me feel better. An image of a flower with a tiny animal standing in the center of it popped into my head, and I laughed a little. Suddenly, an identical flower sprouted from one of the stairs. At this point, I realized it was a dream, but then my lucidity faded and the dream continued on with this strange sort of half-control.
I appreciate the advice given in this thread. :3 I will need to set goals for myself so when I become lucid, I can immediately set my mind to it and hopefully not lose my grip on it.
Well, I used to have those kinds of dreams before, but once I suddenly got really lucid and from that day onward in my dreams I’ve been as lucid as in real life, or even more.
Then you can see everything clearly and think clearly.
It’s just like real life.
Anyway…yeah.I’d advise setting your intention, too.
