I haven’t had any LDs in aaages–most of the reason I haven’t been on this forum in, like, five years–but I got really close to one yesterday morning. Sadly, “close” is, well, as close as I got. The relevant details:
I was in a desert–the scrub-brushy, dusty kind, not the Sahara kind. There was a rather large oasis/lake near where I was, though (I remember commenting “at least there’s water”). I was on a rather narrow road–it was paved, but there was no dividing line. Anyway, I was walking on that road and a bus was coming, so I got out of the way and it passed me by. “I should probably get out of this road,” I thought, but before I could do that another bus came practically barreling down the road. I didn’t have time to get out of the way before it hit me. I didn’t die, I was plastered across the front like some giant bug, but I couldn’t get off. I guess air pressure or something was keeping me on the front of the bus, which apparently couldn’t stop and/or was out of control. It crashed into a chain-link fence, with me still on the front of it. This did not kill me either, but it did pin my right leg between the bus and the fence, and I couldn’t get it loose. The driver of the bus got out and I screamed at him for help. He got someone else, an EMT I guess, and they set to work trying to free my leg. After about maybe five minutes (dream time) of this, I clearly remember saying to one of the guys “This is the weirdest dream ever.” Said guy looked at me and said in all seriousness, “This isn’t a dream.” I am not sure why, but I believed him. Probably because everything looked extremely realistic, and I remember even getting a sunburn on my arms. They eventually did get my leg freed. When I woke up, though, the first thing I did was check to see if I could move my leg (Second thing was to think “Dammit, it was a dream.”)
There was more to the dream, but it’s not really relevant. TL:DR version: I was trying to hide from someone, but I can’t remember who or why.
