One day, I decided that since I found myself losing interest in CALD and LDing in general, that maybe a good daydream might get me back into the spirit. So far though I haven’t had much success with that, but here’s a story:
Like I said, I decided that maybe when I was doing nothing else (AKA most of the) to try learn to daydream (which I suppose is a useless skill, but I think I might like it), but so far, the only 2 real daydreams were me imagining myself playing made up levels in Super Mario 3D Land. Once I noticed myself dosing off, it took real effort to keep those spinning (and they only lasted about 10 seconds anyhow). But then, a couple nights ago, I got woken up by some noise or something. I don’t remember what it was, but I remember knowing it was way too early. I think I must’ve opened my eyes, and MAYBE glanced at the clock. But quickly, I realized I was daydreaming!
I’m dashing down a frost-covered slope with my brother, and 2 of my real-life friends. I say something (though in retrospect, I’m not sure what it was), then, one of my friends faces me. She’s not one of my real-life friends at all! She’s one of my mind-characters, Chilam! She says something to me, but I’m not sure what it was. I say something like “I don’t want to be awake. I want to have a LD!” (I sound sort of whiny, but you have to remember, I’m not exactly full of rainbows and sunshine when I get woken up at 4:00 A.M.) My other friend turns around, revealing herself to be my other mind-character, Scout! “Then just go to sleep.” She says.
I snapped out of it, but at the same time, I actually FELT myself falling asleep. I didn’t try to move. I could feel the muscles in my neck relaxing. The whole experience was so unfamiliar it almost hurt (or maybe that was because my brain was testing me to see if I was asleep). But next thing I knew I was dreaming. That was actually the first time I ever consciously fell asleep. I didn’t actually have a LD, but I think it was because the weird pain startled me. What was the dream about? Get a load of this: a made-up Super Mario 3D Land. 
I guess it’s a bit like MILD but it flows more smoothly than that because one talks about the subject of dreaming/LD’ing rather than repeating the same mantra over and over monotonously.
