DC with large, black pupils in eyes

moved from DJ forum :moogle:

as i have been thinking about my dream life over the past little while i realized something that had slipped past my attention at first… i noticed that the DC all seem to have very large, black pupils with no really visible iris (colored part). i have not had any sense of evil in my dreams but thought it was a curious happening and wanted to get some from people with similar experience or knowledge in the area. thanks…

…sorry, you wanted to get some what?

This is very interesting! I have seen the same in my DCs, so much that i have described it as “DC eyes”. Sometimes, it looks like their eyes are completely black, with no white or colour at all! Maybe eye colours can be hard for the subconscious to reproduce?

i have been asking some people who are experienced in dreams and i got an interesting perspective on it. one older friend of mine compared it to the old saying that “the eyes are the windows to the soul.” i have been in a dryspell so i have not been able to try it out myself but i plan on trying to use them (the black eyes) as a window into the DC so i can see who they are and not just what they look like. what do you think?

Interesting. I’ve never paid enough attention to get the color of a DC’s eyes. Only the ones with really strange ones that you just notice right off the bat (Ex. My subconcious) and reoccurring characters. I wonder if my DC’s have black eyes too. If so, it’d be a great RC.

I believe my DCs have normal eyes, as far as I can remember. In fact, some descriptions in my DJ include eye colors for some of them, so I suppose that if I have DCs with black eyes, they are few  I believe that’s because I usually pay attention on the eyes of other people.

Anyway, it’s kind of interesting to see the “window of the soul” point of view, which makes sense as DCs have no soul.

Actually the “black eyes” do exist, it’s a rare condition called aniridia (absence of the iris) Since the iris is absent the eye simply appears to have large pupils (from Wikipedia, of course).
