DEILD Help

After many, many WILD failures lately (either too tired or too awake, which I suppose can’t be helped, it’s a trial and error process finding what works for you), I’ve become more interested in DEILD, because it’s worked for me every time I’ve realized I was just dreaming and then stayed still.

The problem is, the only times I’ve been able to realize I’ve just woken up were when I’d previously been lucid dreaming and prepared myself when I felt I was waking up.

So how else am I to realize that I was just dreaming, as soon as my mind wakes up? Is it a matter of MILD? Dream recall? Or is it purely luck?

If you weren’t lucid in previous dream then I don’t know.

But if you wake up regularly every night at almost same time[like I do] or if you don’t you can still use mantra that you will wake up at X time and that you will stay calm and that you will not move.

I’ve menage to get LD that way and I wasn’t lucid in previous dream and actually I didn’t remember that I was dreaming. I just had in mind DEILD and I stayed in same position that I wake up and from that point I fall asleep almost immediately and I was in a lucid dream…

Hope this helps. Good luck!

It’s mostly a matter of training yourself that whenever you wake up, you don’t move. If you can do that, it shouldn’t be hard. However, I’ve DEILDed from inside an NLD before. It wasn’t so intentional, (don’t recall if it was my first DEILD though, it may have been), but in the dream, I decided to float in the fog and see where I ended up (while not lucid). I opened my eyes at one point to find myself still there, but I waited. I ended up in this kind of transition stage. I never fully woke up, but I knew if I tried to move, I would. I kept floating there until I felt it was safe to fly forward into a dream, and I did.

However, I wouldn’t say most of my DEILDs were like that. Usually a DEILD is actually waking up but then going back in, which I’ve also done from NLDs. It just takes practice. Just try to remember every time you wake up not to move.

Thanks for the help, guys.

After practicing WILD I’ve become more able to notice the insides of my eyelids. I hear that itself can help with realizing that you’ve just woken up. I’ll try using a mantra if WILD stops working for me, as I think I’m finally getting it right.
