Deja Vu

I’m sure this has been discussed dozens of times before but it still scares the **** out of me so…

Have any of you ever discovered deja vu before. For me it are snapshots and very short scenes that I see in a dream without thinking about it then of course. You then forget it after a couple of hours/days and weeks or even months later it turns up in real life and that freaks me out.

Any thoughts on this and how this says something out predestination?

The most widely accepted scientific explanation says it’s just an illusion that we think we experienced the event before. I believe they say it is some sort of communication error in the brain between long and short term memory, which usually only occurs when the brain is tired. Wiki probably knows best :wink:

I’m having much, much, much dejavu’s lately. Atleast 10 per week. The more I think about them, they seem more and more paradox and wierd. And the more I think about them, the more I get them.

I usually have one or two cases of Deja Vu every other month. So odd, and I just stop for a moment, no matter what I’m doing, and think “Doesn’t this seem familiar?”

i used to have it every day but im sleeping more so it doesnt happen often anymore.

Ah, deja vu, they are so normal in my life, that when I experience it, I don’t make a blink with my eye, and, every time they’re longer and longer, sometimes up to 5-6 seconds.

You are talking about precognitive dreams and not deja vu. there is a sticky topic on pre-cog dreams in this forum. I believe there is a deja vu topic in lounge.

Last time I had a deja vu I was actually able to predict what was about to happen next. (“Now someone holding a marker will bump into me the moment I raise my arm”) It lasted about 1 minute; quite long for a Deja vu.

I once dreamed that my teacher said that we were going to have a snowday (this was almost three years ago now) and that finals would be postponed. Then I dreamed that I was upset since I wanted it to be over with. It all happened like that in real life, right down to the exact cloud formations I saw in my dream.
Also, this has happened other times too with conversations with people and I’m thinking- wait didn’t we already talk about this?
Also, I dreamed one time that my friend was pretending to hide behind a soda machine and then was reading off the numbers on the side saying- a buck fifteen for this?! What a rip off!
Yep…that happened a week later. (this particular incident was last year)
