I just recalled a weird lucid experience I had a few months ago: I was in a town that was foreign to me and became lucid. I started walking around the streets and was suddenly transported to one of the houses I used to live in. I was standing in the garage looking at all the stuff in there and feeling astounded at seeing all of the things that used to belong to me. I saw this one stuffed animal/doll-like thing with weird rubber shoes and some other interesting stuff. All I could say to myself was, “Wow. My memory has preserved all of this old stuff I used to own. How cool is that?” It was only after I woke up that I realized that none of that stuff was ever mine. I don’t even recall seeing such things before (although I don’t know for sure–subconscious records everything). Now if I was lucid, why did I think these things were mine? It wasn’t even what I call a “low” level of lucidity. Anybody else have this? It just seems strange.
Ack… I know I’ve had a dream like this before, but I can’t quite recall what it was about.
I can’t remember that particular dream, but I’ve had lots of slightly “off” lucid dreams. In one, I was at a beach apparently with a bunch of ld4all forum members. I reminded myself in the dream to thank one of them when I woke up for helping me out with something. Of course, at that point I was completely oblivious to the fact that every “forum member” that I met didn’t exist in the waking world.
It was a very vivid dream, but somehow I wasn’t quite grasping the whole picture.
