Died in dream

4 or 5 days ago, i actually dreamt of the apocalypse and expreienced my death, i.e. my last seconds of life. I felt life lbeing sucked up from me, i was breathless for a mili second and actually lost consciuosness in the dream. Then i regained consciousness, still in the dream, tried to get a hold of my parents to make sure they are OK. I woke up geeling quite down yet carefree. What could that mean?

Heh heh. I’ve died before in my dreams, but don’t worry, Me and your parents are still alive.
What you have to remember is that pretty much everything that happens in your dreams is made up by your mind. But, even so, if you feel worried, get in contact with them, this’ll relieve you of any stress you have about it.

if it was my dream …
I would have experienced the ‘worst thing’ that could happen. So would still feel down from the memory …
But once I have experienced that what else is there to worry about … hence the carefree feeling.

Death is often symbolic in dreams and could mean you are aware that life changes are going to happen soon.

Let me aware you about dying in a dream.

Dying in a dream is completely fictional. This means there is nothing related to it happening currently, let’s say someone stabs you in bed. This is because how the brain is neuronicly netted. If someone were to stab you in your dream, you would wake up because of a defence system the brain has within. And if you would die in normal life, the 6 to 12 minutes of brain activity afterwards will not result in you dying in the dream. So if you die in your dream, you are completely safe still fast asleep in your bed.

Death is seen, in a symbolic way, as a change. In Tarot cards too, for example. If you believe your dreams are symbolic, it may mean a change to your life, a transformation. What does it mean to you?

I once dreamed my mom and I were shot to death by a hitch hiker. I just laid in the dream, dead for a little while. A month or two later my parents divorced…and my mom moved away.
Coincidence?

I had a couple of repeating dreams of my death when I was a kid. I’m going to copy them from an old journal. I hope it’s okay to post them here.

I was looking out the door at the rain falling through the trees when I saw in my mind one of the other dreams I had repeatedly as a child.

[color=blue]Desert dream:

I am running and it’s very hot. I am in a place of canyons, with a few pines. Sort of red dirt. Very dry. I only run a few steps further when I come to the edge of a cliff. I stop and try to regain my balance, but something pushes me over. I felt something push between my shoulder blades, just enough to shove me on over the edge. I fall for a long way and feel dust fall on my face after I hit the ground. I can’t breathe.

I’m looking down at me lying there. My body no longer comes with me. I don’t care.

I’m not too hot any more in the burning sun, but I can still smell the pines and the dust and the leather of my dress thing mixed with sweat. I can breathe again! I look up at the rocks and a straggly pine tree against the white/blue sky and smile. [/color]

Pine trees love me and I love them. That sounds silly. It’s true. They are often with me in my dreams. I often smell grass and earth in my dreams…and the smell rain makes as it mixes with the dust.

I have always wondered why, as a child, I would dream of myself as an adult. Do any of you believe in having lived before in another life? Many other lives? What do you think?

I can still remember this dream very clearly. Copied from another of my journals:

I started having this dream when I was 4 or 5. I tried to talk to my mom about it, but she truly didn’t want to hear it. I kinda understand that now. I quickly learned not to tell her stuff. Sad, huh?

[color=blue]River dream:

The water is sort of green and very cold as it goes into my lungs. It smells and tastes funky. I see my hair floating around in front of my face. I look up and see water-distorted blue sky and tree limbs. I have no fear, only a great sorrow.

I rise above the water looking down and see myself face-up in the slow current of a river. My hair is waist-lenght and very dark. It is swirling beside me. I have on a long dark green tweedy skirt, a black belt and boots and a cream colored shirt with mutton sleeves and a teensy of lace and pearl buttons. I thought, “I’ve always loved that skirt.”

My body is slowly drifting past a dock where people are standing. The 3 men all have on dark suits and the 4 women have long skirts and dresses and parasols hanging on an arm. I notice 3 of the women have hankies out and are sniffing delicately. One man paces back and forth looking down into the water. The girls are sniffing with supposed grief to get that one’s attention. I know this and I look back down to the water, but my body has drifted out of sight. I look back at the dock and I don’t care.

I begin to slowly move upwards and I strain to look across the river and over the trees that grew there. Huge trees in a thick forest. Blue sky with few clouds. It smells fresh. I see a thin column of smoke rising above the trees in the distance, slightly to my left. I am excited and move toward it, because I know there is someone there waiting for me. I’m so happy!

I have a flash of what they look like. It is a man with a horse, a fire and 2 small boys in a tiny circle in the trees…a small clearing. Dark shadows because of the huge trees and I can’t see their faces.

I try to hurry, but I can’t. I float as fast as I can above the trees in that direction, but the column of smoke gets further and further away. I always wake up crying with sorrow and hard core frustration.[/color]

I had this dream at least once a year, until I had my first son at age 23. I have brown/blonde hair that I recently had cut off short. I was fascinated by all the dark hair I had in the dream and the clothing was cool.

So what were these dreams? What do you think?

[color=darkblue]I had an ND where I got shot and collapsed and slowly it got harder to breathe and everything faded to black and then I realised I could still think and could hear everyone running around near me.

I then thought, am I injured at all and started to think it must be a dream! I then promptly woke up whilst gasping for air!

When i was little i used to have the same dreams over and over.

One of them was me, crossing the street not too far from where i live. A big black dark car was suddenly there on my left and as i turned my head i got hit by the car. Everything went black for a moment, it didn’t really hurt much, just a feeling of sudden impact on my body. Then i mostly went in third person and saw myself on the ground and i woke up, or sometimes i could just stand up again. Ive had the dream quite some times. A few years later in real life i noticed a car like the one in my dream (big Dodge Ram) was parked in the street next to the one i died in my dreams… I still see the car sometimes.
