I’d like to make a list of differences of dreams and reality. It would be great if many could participate.
Something I notice-shadows in reality are always specific, and usually do not move randomly unless by fire or candle flame, while shadows in dreams can be very odd, and different colors, or nonexistent.
Gravity is usually different, it is not 9.8 meters per second squared, but rather fluctuates.
Colors are more direct, but can shift.
Instruments that are difficult to play IRL are still difficult to play in dream, however, you don’t need air to play them for wind, or pressure for string, you just need focus.
There are others, but I would like to hear from you.
For me, there is usually no hallmark differences betweens dreaming and reality. It is usually random arbitrary things… There are “common” things that pop up in a lot of people’s dreams. A few are things like lights acting funny, not the right amount of fingers on your hands etc. these are dreams signs. Showdows being weird could be one for you. It varies from person to person.
But for me there are few consistent differences. To me the biggest difference is the feeling.
Agreed. Though I don’t believe there is any true way to “Prove” the mechanics of a dream, such as the gravity aspect, I think overall it may or may not be differed, even from dream to dream.
I think the only major difference between reality and dreams (as we know them) is the consistency. But even that may only be from one night to the other. I have full night-long dreams that are consistent and follow a theme pattern that does not stray. Wilst other nights they are just deluded random fragments that have no real connection to one another, or the scenery can change spontaneously.
When it comes to playing guitar I find it no different to real life, what I do find easier is remembering the music. In dreams music just flows from the mind to the fingers, but in waking life the is more effort required to recall the next bars.
Gravity for me is very similar to reality, there’s no obvious oddities.
Sensations are the big differences for, whether that’s hearing, sight or taste.
Only recall playing one broken guitar in a dream. Every string sounded the same, one high note.
Gravity changes a lot. In some dreams it feels like I’m on the moon and in some non-lucid dreams I can control gravity
Colors change based on what I’m dreaming about. Some objects in a dream can be really brightly colored like a small turtle with bright emerald green shell.
There seems to always be a dark dream space between two dreams (Or most of the time. You can go straight to another dream/FA too) or between the dream and awakening. I’ve heard some people get into this void, while lucid, by glitching into something solid. I’m not awake and just keeping my eyes closed when in this space. I’ve entered a dream 3 times from the void and I’ve summoned a concrete wall to the void in one lucid dream to stabilize the dream.
