DIfficulty Concentrating

I currently try to plan my LDs in advance. I repeat the objectives for the next LD over and over in my head before I fall asleep (I visualize them). This seems to work, but not exactly as intended. I do get lucid, but I can never remember to pull off the two preliminary steps I’ve set: Do 3 or more reality checks, then take a lucidity pill. These steps are supposed to guarantee that I think clearly in order to perform the next goal, but it doesn’t help if I can’t remember them once in a LD.

I had two LDs during my nap. The first, I believe I was lucid when the dream started. It was a dream with vivid colors and I could remember it well when I woke up, but I still consider it a FLD because of the way I got lucid and the fact I didn’t achieve any of my goals.

The second LD, I got lucid thanks to a dreamsign: I was out shopping and I wondered what time it is. My sense of time told me “must be around 1” (which was almost true in WL) and I thought, “but then why isn’t this place closed?” Then I probably noticed some other unusual things and decided I was dreaming. But still I got distracted and didn’t do the preliminaries.

So basically, how can I remember to do these things once I’m already lucid? I rarely get lucid using RC and even when I do, I forget to do the preliminaries.

It’s not uncommon to forget what you had planned to do. I don’t know if there is any really effective method to remember other than to really really set your mind to it. Supposedly your not conscious enough to remember when you first become lucid. One would think that the aswer is to get more lucid first, then remember. And this may be true but you still have the same problem, you have to remember to do something to increase your lucidity. And you already had that covered. The only thing I can think of that could help is to decide to do only one thing. because its easier to remember. If you make it your goal to increase your lucidity, and succeed, I think you will remember the next thing on your list.
