"Dipping", and how close I was?

Heya! So, last night i went to bed at about 4am. I woke up 8am, cuz i want to get my sleep rhym(or whatever) back to normal. But, as always, I couldn´t stay awake. I was up about 3 hours or so. I layed down to the couch. Soon I started dreaming… I dont really remeber much. I was “Santiago Serrano”, if you know the guy from los serrano. I broke some old lamp wich belonged to my father. I was going insane, so i though “Oh no!! What now?” Then i partly wake up and told myself “hey, it´s just a dream”… so, i woke up, and i was veeery relaxed. I could feel myself “Dipping” in dreams, like sinking into something. I could control the “dipping”, so I dipped myself deeeeep, for a looooong time. So, I got into SP, wich was my first ever, so i freaked out. It was really scary, you know? I could not feel anything. So, anyways, i soon started moving really. I decided to try that one again. I “dipped” down into SP. I imagined something green in front of me, but didn´t try to enter a LD. It was too scary. I saw someghing like a green table before i stopped.

So, a couple questions:

  1. If I get to SP anyway, does relaxing matter?
  2. Was i close?

It sounds like you were pretty close to me. I believe relaxing is important, for a start being relaxed will make it easier to keep from panicking if you start to have hallucinations. I believe the only difference between controlling these and controlling dreams is that we have an instinctive reaction of fear due to the parallelization. Although by the sounds of it, you were already relaxed enough, you just need to keep from panicking and let yourself slip into a wonderful and postive LD.
