Can you increase your chances to succeed with WBTB if you stay awake during a time when real life itself almost feels like a dream?
For example, I’ve always thought that very early Summer mornings (around 4-5 AM, at that time it’s actually daylight in Sweden during the Summers) have a rather fantastic atmosphere and almost feel like lucid dreams themselves, because at those mornings I find everything around me exciting and can take a walk for hours just admiring the surroundings and looking at distant forests in the morning mist - it really feels like a lucid dream in so many ways.
Then I was wondering, shouldn’t this theoretically allow you to “stay closer” to the dream world and at the same time let you more easily remain in that state of awareness when you go to sleep again?
Well, it can if you do RC’s all throughout it. See, it doesn’t make a big difference what kind of conditions you are in. Though it might be pleasant and calming, it doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly be more aware in the dream. The trick is to keep your awareness up in RL so it transfers to the dream. But, it still might be nice to do it anyway because this does sound pleasant and calming, perfect for staying focused as you go to sleep
