The reason I ask is I have trouble falling asleep unless I’m really tired… but when I’m really tired I can’t remember my dreams. It also appears though, that if I go to sleep earlier I just end up lying in bed for hours. But if the general consensus is that going to sleep earlier DOES help ur recall then I will say screw it and start going to bed earlier
That a cool dsicovery, now that I think of it… thats like me too. For me to sleep I have to be very tired. I have weird sleeping nescessities and habits.
drastically helps mine. In huge, ridiculous, gargantuan ways
If I go to bed far more earlier than usual, like in the summer I went to bed at about 5am, my dream recall would be pretty good the next morning, but since I’m back to school I decided I’d try and get to sleep much earlier than usual so I went to bed at 9, I was asleep by around half 9 and I had awful recall this morning, tonight I’ll try inbetween and go for 11 o clock.
yeah, I’m like that too. If I change my schedule drastically, I can’t recall well for weeks. During the summer I’m really active during the day, so I go to sleep at 10-11
changing bed times should be done like weaning, slowly over a period of time. Like, I started to go to bed at 10 instead of 11, and now go to bed at 9 rather than 10. this took place over about a month.
I agree, disruptions in my regular sleep cycle mess up my chances for LD’s and recall. My summer holidays have really hurt my dreaming.
I find that if I’m too tired, the night skips by with no recall. Even if I stay in bed later in the morning, it doesn’t seem to help too much. My best days are when I go to bed early, not excessively so, but earlier than many others.
I just don’t tell my friends that I go to bed at 9 or 10pm.
