does lucid dreaming get easier after the first?

hi! i’m new here and i know i’ve said this before, but i apologize if this post isn’t in the right place, or if this question gets asked hundreds of times. still learning, yet…

but i just had a very quick question. i haven’t been able to LD yet (still trying. not gonna give up hope!) but once i do…
does it start getting easier? will it take another six months of training to reach my next lucid dream, or will it take three months? will my mind start to better realize i’m in a dream once she’s seen a dream in action and known it?
is this a snowball effect? will i stop having to practice so hardcore every day?

Well after the first you KNOW you can do it and so any small doubt is removed from your mind. It’s impossible to predict when the next LD will happen. There could be a snowball effect but unless you end up being a somewhat natural LDer, it is wise to keep the practice up.

It’s not that the practice changes entirely, but that you become used to that practice, and in turn, it becomes easier. The practice might stay the same as always, but you find more efficient ways to do it, you simplify it. It’s like your mind finally tunes in into a lucid state, meaning that it’s a lot easier for you to focus, and remain aware.

Once you have your first lucid dream it does get easier from there. The amount of personal, first hand experience you get from your first lucid dream is enormous, and is of a lot of help to achieve more lucid dreams. That doesn’t mean, however, that you should stop practicing. With lucidity we’re training awareness; stop practicing and that awareness will decrease along with the number of lucid dreams. But, overall, once you achieve that first lucid dream, it only goes upwards from there.

Just the same, note that having that first lucid dream is actually very easy as well. You don’t have to practice 6 months to a year for you to achieve your first taste of a lucid dream experience. People tend to worry too much about the time they’re going to take to achieve success. The more you worry about it, the longer the time it takes for you to lucid dream. So, relax, enjoy the journey; I guarantee you that if you do your practice, then you’ll have 100% possibilities of achieving your much desired lucid dreams.
