Has anyone else had an experience when they wake up, try to guess the time, look at the clock, and its EXACTLY that time?
I’ve done this more than 5 times sometimes EXACTLY to the minute, and sometimes within 2 minutes of the time. Does your brain subconsciously “count” the seconds that pass while you sleep? Yes, there are other factors such as the brightness outside and movements of people getting up and such, but these did not apply to me since I used to sleep in the basement in virtual pitch darkness.
Ive not exactly woke up and been able to guess the exact time, but had similar experiences, for example when I need to wake up early I set the time and worry about the thing too much, and then I wake up 5 minutes before set time
So I would say there is a biological clock inside us
Yes! I’ve woken up a few minutes before my alarm so many times. But I have one particular story to share
Way before I started LD’ing, I had something at 10:30 AM, nothing important. SO I tried (what turned out to be, I guess) some autosuggestion to try and wake up at 10:29 I did this because of that Seinfeld episode where Kramer says he has a mental alarm clock.
Anyway, I went to sleep and I remember having a dream. All of a sudden, in the middle of this dream, everything faded to black and I saw I tiny green light (I think I even got a bit SP here) and then I heard a deep male voice saying “GET UP!!” and that startled me awake. I was all “wth?” and then remembered I wanted to get up at 10:29, so I looked to the clock. You guessed it, 10:29 exactly!
i think that might be the reason we do dream. without dreams we might just fall asleep, and wake up which would feel like a secound, and we would feel alot irrtble, and cranky. it would feel like we travled 8 hours into the future everynight. who knows that may be the secreat to time travel lol. so i think dreams are a clock.
Well we do keep time even during other sleep stages
We do indeed possess an exact clock inside ourselves. While following BenDrummin’s MindWarp, I started to guess the exact time of the day, it was so awesome ^^ and to this day I use autosuggestion to wake up anytime I wish.
i’ve had it work both ways i think, i know that FAs do this perfectly , you expect it to be a time, and it is, so you don’t realize you are dreaming, UNLESS… you are smart and crafty !
Like LaBerge researched, the sense of time seems to be approximately the same in dreams as in waking life. I had a little experience on the subject here: ld4all.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t … highlight=
My views would be, only if you want it. You know, Writerscube having 2-week-long LD’s and all.
Perception of time can be altered even IWL, with the help of an hypnotist.
