Dogs hunting my friends from the copstop

I have this dream where i am with my best friend and a less known person who i used to be friends with, we are walking up the highstreet we pass the cross roads, and the floor has a thin layer of mist which ripples as we walk, just past the crossroads there is the police station on the left,

I look to it and my friend moves over to it and there are gravestones and a hound then consumes him, it then turns and chases and eats my best friend i then turn and run and i then woke up.

I am not any expert on this subject, but I think that nightmares with a special animal, could mean that the dreamer is afraid of that kind of animal.
For instance, I am afraid of spiders, and I have had many dreams where spiders have been walking on my hands, etc.

Anyway, this is just my viewpoint.
If you never have felt that you are afraid of dogs, then I may be wrong.
