This has happened to me a few times now but has anyone else ever had a dream, woken up, gone back to sleep and had the exact same dream again waking up at the same point again?
I suppose there’s no real way to identify what causes this but I found it of interest
No, it’s never happened to me. A few times I’ve had deja vu in a dream where I half-know I’m dreaming and think I’m having the exact same dream I’ve had before, but it’s really only the first time I’ve had it.
I think he isn’t referring to a FA, as he mentions that he is couscious of waking up, whereas a false awakening is where you believe you have woken up but actually you are still asleep. So that when he wakes up, he is couscious and awake as IRL and then falls asleep and he re-enters the dream but the dream repeats himself. I maybe wrong but I am sure he will quote me on this is I am right.
I usually get these kind of dreams when I have a fever or something. Normally I might re-enter a dream, but then it just continues where I left it off.
I’ve had this happen many times over the years, in one case I woke up in the morning went back to sleep 12hours later and continued the dream (before I knew what LDing and Dream Incubation were)
Yep that hit the nail on the head. Also different to those dreams where you dream, wake up then continue the same dream when you sleep because in those the dream progresses reather then repeating identically
Lanina and Dark Matter, Plehrar situation isn’t what you described you are just experiencing continous dreams whereas Plehrar is experiencing a double dream.
Yes yes. But there is a similarity between these two situations. Waking up from a dream, falling asleep again and then having the same dream. The difference is that he starts from the beginning when I continue.
I think that I might have had these double dreams too, but without waking up between them. And also having the same dream after a year or so.
Could be it if recurring dreams happen twice in the same night. I always assumed reccuring dreams just recurred again at some point after a long period of time
