it would be so cool to share a dream with your g/f …if i had one
then we’d kick ass together like a movie or something
sighs oh true love where art thou
I would just like to share my experience of a SD, although it was not quite a dream in the same way I experience most dreams (visual) it was more like telepathy when in a dream like state.
Me and my boyfriend would always fall asleeep together next to each other in bed and cuddle as closely as possible so our heads were touching. Everytime we slept like this we would have a dream that we had a conversation which we could both remember when we woke up. Nothing much else happened in the dream. When I woke up I would remember his face, and a colour as background, and a really really intimate/explorative conversation with lots and lots of deep detail and stuff. it was like we woould ‘fill in’ all the things we hadnt said during waking moments during our dreams. When I woke up I always asked him about the details of the conversation and he would recite them back to me. When it first happened I had to probe quite carefully to make sure it was real but he always remembered the same as me. This happpened moree and more intensley the couple of mmoths before we were both due to go away for an university year away. A lot of the dream conversations were very intense at these times.
So then, because of university I went away to another country for a year and so did he, we met other people, and during this time we split up :’(.
We were very far away from each other in distance and we did not have any SDs. Then when we both were back in the same country and in the same university and the minute I came back to the country I started to have conversation with him in my dreams again. Although we were not seeing each other anymore very much I spoke to him and found out he had also had the same dream. All this spiritual connection made mrealie how much I missed him but we did not get together anymore.
Whilst we were together I really shared a very strong spiritual connection and we would channel together and share our dreams.
I dont know if this constitutes as SD, they were definetly not LDs, but we definetly had a Shared Experience of some sort. I say it is not like the SDs I have read above, because the experiences were like the same feeling you have when reading a book, something very very purely mental, an experience happening very deeply in the third eye/psyche, with very little visual stimulus (unlike other dreams!) and also it didnt have that ‘wobbly feeling’ ( thats what I call the feeling I get in LDs- cos I’m new at them I supppose but it feels like being in a jelly sometimes, or being a new born baby)
I think it’s a shared dream. SD’s don’t need to be lucid. Amazing experience though! I’ve read somewhere that it was better when your heads touch in order to have a SD. Your experience seems to confirm this hypothesis…
about 2 years ago i shared a dream with a friend. i was living in portland, oregon at the time and she was living in ohio. a month or so before hand id just learned what lucid dreaming was from this website. ive done it since i can remember but i never knew what it was called or any techniques to make it easier. once every couple or months id just realize i was dreaming and go from there.
i got lucid one night and i remembered i wanted to try and find my friend. i used the mirror trick. i pushed on the mirror until my fingers started to go through it and then all of a sudden it just sucked me in. lots of spinning and swirling around and then all of a sudden i pop into this mountain meadow. i start flying around and i see my friend on the ground. i fly past her shouting “hey look, im me, im just light. im flying!” i flew around for about 20 seconds or so and then i lost the dream.
the next day im talking to her online and i ask her if we had a dream. she says “yea, i was camping up in the mountains and then all of a sudden you popped out of nowhere and started flying around. you said something but i couldnt make it out. you werent there that long and then you just dissapeared.”
i thought it was pretty neat. almost everyone i tell that to thinks im crazy

Waw! That’s great! Shared lucid dreams are not so common!
Do you know if you friend was lucid, or was she in a normal dream?
I thought I read somewhere on this forum where this guy had a dream with his wife or g/f. I guess he didn’t realize that it was shared and she later told him or something like that.
I would love to have a shared dream. One that I am consciously aware that it’s being shared.
same here, that would be awesome! I told my friend Kelly (goth_dreamer, she never comes on here though… ) that we should try shared dreaming once we get really good at LD’ing. She’s my BF IRL…
It would be really neat, becuase you could fly or do fun, reckless things, but it would also be really practical. Like having 5 extra minutes to study together on the next math test! hehe.
I wonder if more than 2 people can have a shared dream. That would be really neat if a whole group could have a shared dream together!
Hi Basilus:
I think this is a true hypothesis: even though we had one or two shared dreams even when apart in the period when we were no longer together - we had gone from being miles away and separated by an ocean to being within a miles radius of each other and I think this also had to do with the fact that we started shared dreaming again for a short while when we both returned to the UK.
On a completely different note, I wonder if there is some place where I can ask about dream symbolisms?
Is it possible to have a shared dream with someone you’ve never met? From what I’ve read it’s usually w/ people who know each other.
I thought I had a shared dream once w/my brother. I was dreaming and he had been knocked unconscious. But based on what I’ve been reading here. I don’t think that accounts for one.
If you don’t meet this person, how can you verify it’s a shared dream?
Errr… why wouldn’t it count for a SD? Do you mean he hasn’t had the same dream? In this case, of course, it’s not a SD.
I should have been clearer. What I meant was if you’ve never met this person IRL but maybe shared fotos of each other or can it only happen when you physically seen someone?
The thing on my brother was that I was dreaming at the time. He was on the other side of the world, literally, and had experienced an accident. I heard him say to me the exact words he had said to himself before he was rendered unconscious.
Anyway, maybe I’m just confusing things
Personnaly, I don’t know any case of this to have happened, but it could be possible, I suppose.
About your dream, I’ve had one similar dream in which I’ve had info before it happened IRL. I don’t think it’s really a shared dream, it sounds more like remote viewing or precog dreams.
I hear you Basilus. It was scary when it happened.
dont know if this really counts but it popped in my head today.
about a year and a half ago i had an extremely vivid lucid dream in which i was hanging out with some mer-people. they were all extremely beautiful creatures, guys and girls alike. we were on a floating dock that had a canopy over it. some of the mermen and mermaids were sitting up on the dock with me and my girlfriends 6 year old son and a few others were swimming in the water. i dont remember what we talked about, i just remember it feeling really real and i was very lucid during most of it. gave me a happy feeling being around them. i told my girlfriend about it later on in the day and she told me that her son had woken up telling her about a dream he had about some mermaids. i dont know if i was in it or not, but it was kind of neat we both had mermaid dreams that same night.

My brother used to get continuing dreams and would tell me the continuation every morning it was fun. He was some kind of hero and I created the monsters for the villians and he’d dream of them. Then I thought, what if I had a dream of the other side? Would it affect his dream? I think I was 11-13 at the time.
In my dreams I think I was half-lucid. I was playing the role of the enemy so I thought like him but at the same time I still kinda knew it was a dream. It apparently did affect his dreams. He’d tell me them in the morning and it was his point of view. It was really cool. I can’t remember exactly which dreams they were. He’s told me so many! I did this around 5 or more times I think. He eventually stopped getting those continuing dreams. I wanna try this with my younger brother too.
I have a question. Do you think there might be some kind of method to get SD’s? It seems I was able to get those shared dreams pretty easily. Maybe there was something I was doing that I didn’t realize at the time? It would be awesome if there were techniques written down for this like there is for LD.
I never read techniques about shared dreaming. Most of the time, it happens with people you’re really close to.
I would love to do SD.
I would go to him and start creating a dream for him that would be so funny. But no nightmare im not an ashhole just funny dream lol.
i had a shared dream with my brother. i was lucid. i was randomly walking through woods taking in the dream scape and i came to a house. i walked into the house. my brother was there on the sofa playing xbox or something like that. i said to him your dreaming do you know that he said “im not dreaming, im playing xbox, what are you doing up so late?”
i said im visiting you in a dream, you see im lucid at the moment and then i left the room and started flying.
the next day he said he had a wierd dream that i was in, he said he dreamt he was at a friends house playing xbox and that i suddenly came through the door and told him that it was a dream.
it was quite wierd to tell him that i actually was in the dream and that i had the same dream.
i think that is the only shared dream (that i know of) that i have had.
do some of you people ever have dreams where you feel like your playing some kind of astral/cosmic game with other dream players? not just dream characters but real people? i have these dreams sometime and the vibe in the dream is that im in another realm, not just some normal dream scenery and that the people are infact real. does anybody else have dreams that actually feel like this? i dont know if these are shared dreams or just very vivid and entertainin ones. but it certainly does feel like they are part of another world not just normal dream scenery.
If you’ve ever read the book: Ender’s Game and the following novels by Orson Scott Card, you will find a theory about Philotic Rays and connections. Basically, the ant creatures that attacked earth communicate via natural ansibles that use instantaneous communication over infinite distances. Also, philotic connections between people depend on the strength of their relationships, according to the book. I’d suppose it’d be the equivalent of magnetizing people who are close to each other so they can feel and influencial tug from another person. Also, with this philotic connection model, SDs are possible from universes away.
If SDs are possible from any range and are instant (Faster Than Light), then perhaps science can harness this ability…fat chance though)
I love this theory.
I plan to try to have a shared dream with my friend, who is 150 miles away from me, on the occasion that I become lucid again. I have had 2 or 3 lucid dreams, only one that I remember stuff from. I just learned of LDs and such as of Sunday, 2/26/2006, so I’m a noob.
a few months back my first lucid dream, which slowly after months of reasearch landed me here in my search for that ‘first high’ lucid dream.
I had a dream of the great wall of china, i was climbing it and thought…wait i was just there yesterday and became very lucid, at this point i saw the girl (yes the girl im after) and i told her she was dreaming, and told her that i wasn’t lying, so she kinda became lucid and we chatted for what seemed like 3 days non stop. THe next morning i asked her if she had a dream, she said yes but was embarrassed to talk about it…later on her best friend told me that she was at the great wall and she met me there…
