Double Take… An Account of Shared Dreams

A shared dream is a dream in which two (or perhaps more) people have the exact same dream, in which their interactions affect the other. If lucid, the possibilities are endless.

There are a fair few people who have (or more accurately, claim to have) had such shared dreams. This is place for you all to post up your shared dreams to share with us (no, that pun wasn’t intended).
Only dreams in which you have a real reason to believe it was a shared dream may be posted in here – a smart or lifelike dream character is not considered a shared dream.
The dream can be lucid or otherwise, as long as it is a shared dream it doesn’t matter.

If two or more of the parties frequent this site, the same dream given from each of their own perspective would be very much appreciated.

THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO ARGUE WHETHER OR NOT SHARED DREAMING IS POSSIBLE. NOR IS A PLACE TO GIVE THEORIES AS TO HOW IT IS POSSIBLE (unless it somehow relates to a dream that has been posted up).

lasdt night i woke many and went i to the same dream again and again.
having sex with my old girlfriend…

I was so real, like LD and i wonder and i even thought about calling her to ask if she…but no i do not dare…

Honestly, you cannot include it to shared dream until you know that she was indeed in the same dream, or until you have very STRONG suspictions that the DC you saw was not “normal” DC.

As Sureal said, “a smart or lifelike dream character is not considered a shared dream”

I am not sure if this falls in the category of shared dreaming… but the on the same night my wife and I both dreamed about her dying… she didn’t want to go into the details of her dream - and I wasn’t going to push her.

She remembers her dreams frequently also, and this was the first time we had experienced this.

Ok I’ve posted my shared dream before but I’ll post it again as people can measure their shared dreams against it to see if theirs had more shared qualities or less.

Its more difficult to be conclusive with a shared dream about a big subject that many people think about like death… however thats not to say that you this dream wasn’t shared.

BTW I’m collecting dreams that you think might be shared (with a DC you don’t know from real life)for this page lucidcrossroads.co.uk/dreamshared.htm so anyone having these dreams don’t post here as this thread is for shared dreams pm/email them to me.

My shared dream ~ I shared a dream with my housemate, a friend of about 5 years. We never talked about dreams and she didn’t know of my interest in them. I wasn’t going to tell her about my dream in which she had featured. It was she that told me “I had a really strange dream last night and you were in it” as we walked out the door to the pub the next day. However it was only when she started recalling the dream that my jaw literally dropped.

She had dreamed of waking in the middle of the night and feeling fear because of a presence of something in her room. She got up from her bed and rushed down stairs to my room, she banged on the door and shouted my name but the door was locked and she had to return to bed.

In my dream I was woken from sleep in the middle of the night by her banging on my door and shouting my name. This is where our dreams diverge as she found my door locked where as I answered the door. My dream continued with her saying that there was a presence in her room and could I go and check the room. I went upstairs and in the corner of the room sat in a chair was the ghost/spirit of an old woman, although the spirit didn’t speak I knew it wasn’t harmful so I went downstairs to tell my housemate. Then I woke (middle of the night 3-4am) my heart was racing and it took a long time to get back to sleep. Neither of us were lucid at the time, but my dream was on the verge and very vivid.

I think that is a fair comment and would disqualify my dream… I think yours is a better example.

My brother and I had a shared dream several years ago, while we both were living with our parents.

Late at night, we were talking about lucid dreaming. We made an agrement to meet outside the house if we both were lucid. There are stories about an old outhouse on our property being haunted. A man killed himself there a long time ago. Maybe it could be easier to see/hear it if we were there in a lucid dream?

Early in the morning, I “woke up” in my bed and realized I was dreaming almost instantly. I remembered the conversation with my brother, wrapped a blanket around me and went outside. My bare feet were immune to the cold. I met my brother on the terrace on the other side of the house. It was foggy, as it often is in the morning before sunrise. We sat down on the terrace and talked. The outhouse looked so menacing now, that none of us were willing to go inside. Instead we stayed on the terrace for a while. I can’t remember any more of the dream.

In the morning, both of us told our mother the dream, without talking to each other first. (Several lucid dreamers in the family has its advantages.) The only difference was no fog in my brother’s version. We both told about changing our mind and staying on the terrace.

I’ve had a few shared dreams with R3TRO. None of which I was lucid though.

One was we were both in a warehouse with snakes coming out of vents…and one bit me. lol.

Another included me jousting with some other guy and we i was dressed in a vikings outfit, and R3TRO (being lucid), found me and asked if I was really Ben, and I said yes, and he said that I was dreaming, but I didn’t believe him and woke up. I wish I wasn’t a retard in my NDs…lol.

There have also been others where R3TRO finds me when he is lucid, but I’m not. Some, I don’t remember, while others I do…

and…just the other night, I met a DC that (we think) appeared in both of our dreams. He both told us how to spell his name with an e (his name was Lerry). I had a long conversation with him, asking about his real life and such, and found out a lot of things, like he says he is lucid every night and goes to the place we were at every night (which was a spacestation). Anyways, I told him about me trying to find R3TRO & FreeCube, and after I left him, we think he tried to find them himself, and it seems as if he did.

So yeah…those are my accounts. R3TRO, FreeCube, and I are all trying to have a SD where I am lucid along with them. It’s only a matter of time :smile: And when that does happen, the SeaHome shall be built!!!

nope…ive only been lucid once between the finish of the entrance and now…and when i was lucid i was about to find R3TRO and FreeCube, and then start building, but a group of DCs came (which always happens when my dream ends), and started picking on me, so to make myself feel better, I beat them up, and woke up. mistake I know…lol. I gotta learn to fly away when i see crowds of DCs…its my brain’s way of saying, hey your about to wake up!

But…I’ll get lucid tonight and I’ll find them and start building :smile:

I fall asleep and find myself at the house (as usual) I walk into the kitchen after washing my face in the bathroom sink, and Freecube tells me im dreaming, i go yeah i noe why do you think theres a crab on the ceiling… he says well fine but lets just excange a code word so that we can verify this as a shared dream, he tells me i love lucy, and to tell him that tomorrow, (i do).

I walk back into my room a get my snowboard, and the warp outside to go snowboarding, i realize that i want more powder so that i can do some sick tricks, and the Freecube walks up to me and tells me hes going to newjersy to find people to talk to becaus ehe is bored, im like ok whatever ill be here snowboarding. So I snowboard for about a week straight, it stayed light outside for about a week untill freecube came back. for some reason it only gets dark when people want to sleep .

About a week later freecube comes running in super dooper fast and tells me about all that he had done that week, and that he is going to bed. (Im trying not to sleep in my dreams right now, because the sleep has been screwing up my recall) any way it starts to turn dark, so i decide to go inside and see what there is to do in there.

When i get inside my friend is sitting on the couch and says hey wanna play some checkers, i go ok, and i end up playing checkers for the rest of the night.

When Freecube wakes up the next day we eat breakfast, and then we hear a knock on our door, i say i’ll get it, so i open the door, and a green guy with a turtle shell is standing there, im like ok… and he says hi my name is Lerry, make sure you spell it with an E, And then he said when ugly poeple make weird faces strange people win races, and then he runs off yelling i must beat the hare!!!

Im like ok well i might as well wake up since my alarm clock will go off in 5 mins so im out peace, and then i wake up to find that it is 5 mins b4 my alarm goes off

I started out at the house as usual, and I chose to stay there this time, as I will most of the dreams I have now. There started out being not much to do, eating, sleeping, doing chores. But then R3TRO popped up, and I told him he was dreaming. We gave each other a code phrase (I love lucy was it) and just continued doing nothing for a few days, with R3TRO snowboarding everyday. When people besides me are there at the house, I normally walk off and go visit places, neighbors, etc. I take days long trips. I decided to visit New Jersey, which is about 70 miles. I didnt want to walk there, and flying is old so I ran there at light speed. Which was cool. I found a dream character I hadnt talked to before and asked him what has been the highlight of his day. He tells me that he got some exercise while riding his bull. I questioned him and he told me riding his bull worked his triceps when his bull is flying. I asked him if he knew he was dreaming and he woke up. So I decided to fly back to my house. R3TRO was still there snowboarding, so I went up with him. A weird person came to our house and his name was Lerry (yeah, with an e), he also had a turtle shell. He told us a riddle recite to each other when we woke up. The riddle was “When ugly people make weird faces, Strange people win races”. I dont know what it means but Im eager to find out, and I was when I was sleeping. I chose to wake up and try to find out. I couldnt :confused: Any help?

I had a SD, sort of
My friend was always busy with dreamstuf back then I didn’t pay much attention on dreams and always when she started about it I said: I don’t understand. and she said: I wil make you understand and I said : What are you up to and she said : You wil see! And then in the night I was dreaming I was in school and looking at some hot boys, and teachers :tongue: and suddenly my friend was there saying that I was dreaming. I said: He you are totally crazy,!! Dreaming you must be joking but she began to get really angry because I was laughing with her. Pff you have to know it yourself Bye and she went of and my dream continued. I woke up and was thinking about it but I said to myself, Thats ridiculus. When I came in school I saw my friend was really furious. She said that I was stupid that I didn’t believed her. And after a while when she cooled down she said: Can’t you dream of something else than boys and teachers :tongue: It made me sick. And then I laughed

mis_dolfijn that’s an awesome experience! Have you asked your friend if she can do that with other people to, or have you tried it again with her? Would be interesting to hear more about this.

Since quite a few of you have lucid dreams, and can tell eachother you’re dreaming I have a few questions. (because I’m curious)

How do you find the people to tell them they’re dreaming? Do you use that door thing, where you imagine something is behind the door and then open it?

What happens when two people are having a shared dream and one of you wake up? Does that person appear to dissappear to the person still in the dream? Do they walk away?

And finally, would having a shared dream and telling the person they were dream help people have lucid dreams? If so I’d like to try that.

I kinda had an SD once.

Back in high school I had a dream of a friend of my girlfriend (at the time).

When I got to school the next morning and I saw this girl I kinda jokingly said “I had a dream of you last night.”

She replied back that she had one of me too!

Turns out our dreams were VERY similar but not exactly the same.

In my dream we were on a boat, I was wearing white, she was in black and she was flirting with me.

In her dream we were on a boat but I was wearing black, she was in white and I was flirting with her!

Needless to say my girlfriend wasn’t impressed that I seemed to have shared an intimate moment with her best friend in our dreams! :wink:

I have had two sort of shared dreams with a friend (but I was the only to share them! :rofl:, so they are not really shared dreams.)

In the first dream, (it was a ND) my best friend and me were in the garden of his parent’s house, and we were trying to look inside the house through the windows. Then the phone rang and woke me up IRL. It was this friend who asked me to go at his parents’ and see what was happening, cause they didn’t answer to his phone calls. But it was not a SD, because he was awake while I was sleeping.

In the second, (it was a LD) I was woken up by this same friend… in a dream, but I became lucid immediatly. It was very strange, exactly like you’re awaken by somebody. He was there and told me we should go to Paris. :confused: Then we flied to Paris together. It was so surprising that I phoned him the next day, to ask him if he had a LD this night. What was very unlikely, because he used to believe he was astral projecting and as he always met monsters he thought to be real, he was so frightened that he wasn’t practicing LD’ing since 3 years.

Now he told my phone call was rather strange, because he just changed his mind a few days before: he realized that the monsters were illusions, so that he decided to have LD’s again. This night, he just had very strong vibes for the first time in 3 years… but he didn’t remember any dream. So it wasn’t really a SD, neither… :sad:

I had an LD two days ago, in which i was talking with a guy, i realiezd i was dreaming at the very end of the dream, when everything stopped but i and the guy could move, i intanttly understood i was dreaming but he seemed very disturbed by what was happening, i told him we might be in the same dream, i asked him his real name, he answered me " franz " and then he just collapsed and i woke up…

I don’t know anyone named Franz so i’m trying my chance, does anyone here named Franz ? The dream was the morning of july 22, around 6.30, we were in a white room, there was two others DC, and Franz was wearing a Navy suit…
