I started to try to LD a while back unsuccessfully, but now that i’ve started college my schedual allows me to LD sucessfully. Every Thursday i have class at 8 so i stay up real late on Wed., and after class fall back asleep after my roomate leaves for class. WBTB works as part of my schedual. I’ve had a few LD’s and I’ve decide that maybe i can try to make DC’s that will appear whenever i dream, but i need to start this first.
Can anyone tell me an effective way of trying to create a dream character that will appear in some if not all of my dreams? I’ve never actually experienced a conversation in dreams so i dont really know how to have one. Most of my dreams involve actions, not words.
Close your eyes, and say who you want to meet. Then open them and see if he / she is there… mostly that works. If not, try to open a door, telling yourself that person is behind the door.
From what I’ve heard, and experienced, creating dream characters can be difficult, but I suppose that differs from person to person. Rather than saying, “I want X to appear,” one method that I’ve read involved calling out to the person as if you were looking for them. I haven’t tried it myself, but I figured I might as well mention it.
It’s pretty impossible… Basically, with a lof of time and training that is able to made, but taking it from realistic perspective, you cant do it.
It’s able to make your dream longer. Somewhere there was a guy, that wroted that he had one-week controled dream. He created his own world. I dont know that he returned to there, but i dont think so.

nonononononononono !!! If you close eyes in dream, you could open RL ones, or have a FA. A high risk, not worth it.
Best way to summon people is to expect them behind door , expect coming them to room you are or riding down from a lift. I personally use mostly first techniqe. Most safe, and working really good.
Kataklysmic, my dreams are very much so with actions not words as well, thanks for posting this question. My dreams are so empty, they usually take place at night and where I live the night is dead. Once in a LD I wanted to meet someone and have a discussion. I realized I was near a building and thought and willed that the character was inside. So I went to enter the building, And when I opened the door the dream faded. Why is this? Was it because I might have doubted myself? Does this method work? (sorry for using your post Kataklysmic) thank you
That’s not necessarily true, in my opinion. I’ve closed my eyes briefly in several of my lucid dreams, and nothing seemed to happen. Perhaps I might wake up if I were to close them for longer periods of time, but so far that hasn’t happened to me.
Find a closed door and tell yourself the person you’re summoning is in the other side of it, than open it.
Demand their presence out loud.
Those have worked for me… But they don’t always work. Summoning DCs is actually one of the hardest things to do in a dream—believe me, it takes massive ammounts of practise and some luck. Most times, you get a random DC rather than the person you asked for…
I’ve had trouble with this until fairly recently, and here’s what I’ve tried:
deeeeeepbreathlongpostcoming
picture the person behind something (I used doors and once a refrigerator), then open it/look behind it.
result: didn’t work very well for me - I sometimes got no one at all, and more often than not I got someone completely different than who I was looking for.
call them like they’re somewhere nearby
results: this worked maybe twice out of all the times I tried, and the rest of the times I wasted a lot of dream just running around calling people. I wouldn’t recommend it.
close your eyes and picture them there, then open your eyes
results: not very good. it worked a little better if, when I had my eyes closed, I pointed decisively to the place I wanted them to appear and yelled their name, but even that wasn’t very productive. Worked okay if I just wanted a random DC.
call them on a telephone
results: quite bad. I ended up with telephone operators who didn’t seem to get what I was trying to do (“What? Who are you looking for?”), and usually got the wrong person, if anyone.
my personal way - eyes closed (optional), just firmly state to the dreamworld in general, “I want _____.”
results: worked most of the time, although I discovered it pretty recently.
In general, saying things out loud usually makes them work better in my dreams, but most likely that’s just me.
hmm but what if you created your own unique person who has no real identity in the world
would this person then be a common character in your dreams, as like is said earlier, if you create your own dream world that you can go back to whenever you LD, then the people there will always be there, and the people there will have been made up so you arent actaully “looking” for the people you want to appear, they are embedded into the dreamworld
Well, I’ve had some bloody persistent recurring DCs, I can’t see why would a created DC not be able to become recursive…
In fact, come to think of it, I have an example of it working: once upon a time, almost a year ago, I decided to summon my spirit guide—and he became a fairly recurring DC for a while, one of my favourite DCs in fact. (Just for the record: my spirit guide is the forum member Wolf.)
best way i’ve found is imagining hearing the voice of the person you want there coming from behind a door or around a corner. every time i hear them in the next room and find them when i enter.
I’ve tried the ‘calling’ method tirelessly, it’s never, ever worked for me. In fact, it seems to wake me up. I can’t do the ‘close your eyes and imagine them there’ method either. The only thing that works for me is to go to another place/room in the dream setting and ‘expecting’ them to be there. It doesn’t always work, and the DC doesn’t always look the way I wanted them to, but I’m working on it.
im very new to LDing so all of your suggestions help alot
i recently had an LD where i was flying off a mountain and then a saw a girl flying toward me and she was no one i had ever seen before, but as she got closer she changed into somoene i went to school with and i lost lucidity and the dream ended. I would have liked to have the girl change into someone else, but im working on it
