Dream Characters

Ever thought of asking a dream character techniques to induce lucid dreaming at will?

I once wanted to try to ask DC to let me know I was dreaming next time I was dreaming, but I sort of forgot about it and never actually did it. I should give it a try. Maybe it’ll work.

I’m guessing the DC would either teach you a technique you already know or something that doesn’t actually work, unless you’re an expert at this stuff and are smart enough to come up with an effective LD inducing technique yourself.

I think just opposite. There are two theories about dcs.One claims that they are independant beings from independant world.Second one says its our subcounciousness making them up.
Well, regardless of which one you believe answers are very valuable. Both can give you quite interesting views…views you had no idea you can have(subcounciousness` ones).
I love the topic:)Even tho i never got anything of value this way im still hoping for that:)

That’s so interesting. I think I would be worried if they were outside characters in MY dream though, because what if they could read my thoughts? haha. That’d be crazy. Although if they were , it’d be possible to learn so much from them. But if they were part of your own imagination and your own thoughts, discovering yourself piece by piece would be quite a journey too. Eeeeeennnnteresting.

Yes, DCs are a very interesting part of dreaming in general. However, the theory that each character is played by a being from a different world is simply not plausible. Whether you remember learning something or not, DCs simply cannot tell you anything you didn’t already know. They can help you come to realizations about yourself or your life, but they can’t teach you anything fundamental. Also, after generating a realistic world packed full of detail and original design, how could anyone doubt the minds ability to create the personality behind the characters that share it with you?

Not true…Dream characters can teach u fundamentals, but the only problem would be, if u could understand it. Remember, what u can do in the dream world is not limited, the dream world gives us more fllexiblity and choices. You never kno what dream characters can say or teach u. Dream characters are not predictable. It all comes down to expierence. Why don’t we know something? Becuase we never learned it or expierence it. but ld gives a chance to expierence anything.

You missed the point. You may be able to learn anything that can be worked out, but the point is that the characters themselves exist entirely within your head. They can’t tell you about the new product from Microsoft. They can’t tell you what something looks like if you have never seen it before. If they could, then it means that you already had that knowledge somewhere in your head.

Sounds very interesting. May I give you a cent worth of tip? According to my belief, the best medium to talk with your subconscious directly is through some kind of computer. I have already got some useful answers from doing that. Maybe you should try that…

Unless, of course, Windows and other Microsoft applications have built-in subliminal broadcasts about upcoming products and services, designed to play back during dreaming.

But that’s not too realistic, now is it?

*Gets sudden urge to buy Encarta

With profound senselessness,

Stuffness

Ah, but if those products were putting things into your head while you used them, then those messages would still be in your head prior to the dream character telling you about them.

Theres exactly same number of proves to each theory-none.
I admit i like to think about dcs as outside beings.Im not saying thats truth tho.Same applies to “all in our heads” theory.Only because it seems to be more possibile and common sense aproves it easier, does not make it the truth yet.
Im not talking about some complete fantasies here.As outside beings i dont understand fairies and sprites.More of energies that nature hasnt been touched by science yet.Similarily to bacterias when we had no idea about till we found out the microscope.
Not sure though if science will give us a key answers here.It might,it might not.I think it will but only partly-cardiology and neurology can explain how heart and brain work…but still its impossibile for those fields to explain love i.e.
take care:)

what about inventions or ideas that could make you a lot of money that you are told about by a DC. Are those really your ideas, just expressed through your subconsious state, like, they aren’t YOUR ideas, but somehow, they are, but not really. But who else could have created them? Aaaaannd…GO. (ur thoughts)

mindpath, those are still your ideas. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and a lot of people already take advantage of their dreams in exactly this way. Conscious or not, it’s still YOU creating the content of your dreams.

i recently met some special dream charcters, pink rectangulr cartoonish characters that loafed around in a tre house. one introduced himself as the marmalede dharma king, and after i told him about my lucid dream from the night before in detail (it was about flying and freefalling and dieing) i then asked him a little about dreams, which he handled with ease, then asked for tips on how to fly in a dream. ive never read anything about this, its all new to me, but he explained that if you relax completely, lean back a little and clinch a muscle that isnt quite your back, more like some one muscle controlling your whole body. as he explains he demonstrates, does a few barrel rolls, then i try. i do as instructed, and float out of my chair. we laugh. any thoughts on this bit of insight?

It could have just been all made up, then when you tried it you would have believed it would work so it did. The key to any dream control is believing that whatever you’re trying to do will work.

In one of my lucids, a DC told me it was a dream and that I should try something out. I looked at my hands and they and the backround got more colorful and clear.
