Dream Clarity?

I’ll keep this short.
When I dream, my dreams are quite fuzzy or generally not clear. Is there any way I can help improve the clarity of my dreams?

EDIT: I need more help. My dream recall is going downhill. I managed to recall a few dreams, then had a large gap where I just couldn’t remember anything I dreamt. What techniques have worked for you guys to help improve DR? Is there anything I can eat to improve this or is it more “mental preparation” I guess you could call it.

well improving your dream recall is vital to increasing perceived vividness. When in a lucid dream, what I like to do is to yell “INCREASE LUCIDITY!!” and that usually gets things looking a lot clearer and sharper than in my regular dreams.

I wish it was as simple as you seem to think it is, isfux. :meh:

As Drakey said, DR is essential. One of the main reasons that dreams can be “blurry” is because you don’t remember them well. Of course, your senses can be weakened, especially in NDs, even when you can remember your entire dream clearly.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve been trying to improve my DR and I think I may be getting better, or at least more aware than before. I hardly ever used to remember dreams.

Hmm, why don’t you try looking for a pair of glasses in your dream? You could make it your goal and use everything you know to achieve it. Mindfully reminding yourself as you’re going to bed to look for a pair of clarity glasses would help…I bet you 20 bucks :content:

Oh Presence… That is the most creative way to improve vividness I think I’ve ever heard

Thank you for sharing

Also, with what Drake said, I find yelling an actual number works even better
Example: “vividness times a hundred!”
In my experience, when you yell something like “increase vividness”, the vividness is usually increased, but it isn’t very consistent. One time, the dream might get super vivid, while another, it might just be improved the tiniest bit. When a number is added, your brain seems to actually ‘calculate’ it, and it seems to be quite consistent.

Of course, that is just from personal experience

I heard about a really weird one at one point. You get waterproof goggles and fill them with water, then put them on. I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but it sounds interesting.

I’m surprised that I’m the first one on here to talk about focus. Anywho. The first thing I do when I enter a lucid dream is to spin myself in a circle and rub my hands together. Take a deep breath and look around. Sometimes I also push my tongue up into the back of my mouth which is something I read about in Carlos Castaneda’s ‘The Art of Dreaming.’ This brings everything into focus and engages the senses. Good luck!
