I don’t know if this is supposed to actually go here or not. It is about dream recall so I thought it might go with gaining lucidity because you need good dream recall to remember dreams if you get lucid.
So lately I have had a lot of trouble remembering my dreams. I would wake up and lie still and everything but nothing came to me except just maybe one small picture of something.
Recently I wanted to do something about it so I came up with this (I don’t know if anyone else came up with it or anything, but I haven’t ever read anything like it). I concentrate really hard about what happened last night. I usually get a small “Dream Fragment”. Just one small picture of a place of a person in the dream. I think to myself who is this/where is this? What were they doing/What was I doing there?
Like a Jigsaw Puzzle, I feel my dream coming together and it starts to play in my brain fragment by fragment. Then you think “What else did I do”? Sometimes you get a small fragment of another dream. You can try to fit in the fragments to this to.
I came up with it two nights ago and when I woke up both nights I could remember a bunch of my dream. This morning I tried it and I I rememberd a bunch of one dream and some more of the other.
I really hope that this helps anyone who is having trouble with Dream Recall. If I find anything interesting while I am using it then I will post it here.
I just realized I didn’t put a Emoticon in the post and I think that if it is a long post it should have a smiley so here:
I’m about to go to sleep. I’m going to try to not use a mantra to help me remember my dreams this time and see if I can use the Dream Fragments naturally.
This is the method I use to recall dreams, kind of!
Basically I try to capture a fragment of a dream and write down the key words. This is kind of a weird extended analogy, but if I remember a tiny fragment of the dream, I know where the dream was (remember, metaphorically!) stored in my brain memory stuff. After that I can navigate through my memories and recall most of the dream.
And that means less writing in the middle of the night!
If I don’t write it down right after I wake up I usually forget it… and slowly my dream recall becomes worse and worse. When I remember to write it in my journal I usually start back up with everything and remember more and more.
Lately i’ve been having my LD’s randomly… haven’t had the time to practice or concentrate…
I guess once you’ve had a really good LD you will keep having them… even if you don’t want them.
