Dream Gift

From my grandmothers part of the family, most of the women have a dream gift. Its very weird, what happens is they dream somthing before its about to happen (but only if its something bad). My mother has aquired this gift and for some strange reason i think i might be aswel. Does anyone have a clue about this???

hey bradley12345 and welcome to the forum

Are you talking about something like precognitive dreaming (where you know something before it actually happens in physical reality)? It looks like you’re saying that you can get dreams of situations that happen before they really do IRL.

Actually, everyone has this ability, as long as they can remember their dreams and consciously act on them IRL. I’ve had maybe one or two of these where I like how the dream went and I created the situation in physical reality…

But you may more easily come in touch with this. Does your mother talk with you about dreaming on a regular basis? I know a lot of parents (especially in the US) don’t really talk about dreaming or anything spiritual for that matter… Maybe you could talk with her more and maybe work together to enhance this ability.

Good luck with your dream journey!

Yeah actually my mother does disscuss dreams every morning. An yeah thanks ill try and get my mom to talk more.

I disagree with AstareGod (cos I’m annoying like that ).

I believe that few people - if anyone at all - has the ability to have precog dreams.

If you have a dream about, say, your grandmother dying and lo and behold! She dies four days later! You must have precog abilities (this will be pretty much everyone’s opions - yes, even people who don’t activly talk about spirituality and junk).

But, that dream can easily be explained away with stats.

Setting 1) Your grandmother was in ill health at the time. So of course, it’s not really that amazing that you dreamt of her dying.

Setting 2) Your gran died spontaniously (say, she ate a funny mushroom and walked off the roof to play with the fairies) without any prior warning. How did the dream come to you then?

Well, that’s actually quite simple. You have lots of dreams - yet you don’t go, ‘Oh how strange! My dream didn’t come true!’ everytime. Simple stats implies that eventually, you have to dream of something before it happens.

Also note: Four days later. Why four days? Why not three? Why not five? Why not one?
Why… even if you did dream of something, then the next day it’s happened (happened to me a couple of times) then it can still be explained away with stats.

People underestimate stats. The simple way of remembing this is the quote I gave above, ‘Oh, how strange! My dream didn’t come true!’

Never underestimate stats .

This has happened to me on a few occasions in the past - it is pretty spooky. The stangest thing was it was that the dreams were always about something completely unimportant and insignificant which would happen the next day.

I also have family members that say they had dreamed something and then it actually happened. But like Sureal said, you have dreams all the time that don’t come true. I have had many dreams were me or someone I know dies, but they don’t in real life. So even if you can predict the future through your dreams, there is no way of knowing what will come true and what won’t, so it isn’t going to help you much to have it.

hmm… I can see where EtherealJaunt and Sureal are coming from. I actually agree - not all of my dreams could ever be considered “precognitive” as they literally play out, but I’m a sucker for interpretation, so if a particular dream sticks out and says HEY, INTERPRET ME! I HAVE A MESSAGE then I will most likely find its hidden meaning, and they usually match what really goes in IRL.

Now those dreams are special and pretty rare… I only get them maybe once every few months, so I’m not saying EVERY ONE of my dreams are considered pre-cog, only a few that have that particular feel, give me a feeling which makes me sense that they have that message… I hope that explains everything more clearly… sorry for not being clear earlier :content:

My Alot of the women on my mothers side of the family has the same gift. Most of the time like you said with your family the dreams are of bad things happening befor they occur. Once in a while though they will have one of the dreams about a family member being pregnant. Most of the time there usually bad. I don’t agree that everyone has this ability. I think I will acquire this someday also. I don’t know much info to give you on this. All I can say is I relate with you in this situation.

I’ve had precog dreams a few times, my mother has had lots of them.

Sometimes it’s coincidence but some dreams are true precog dreams.

For example one of mine involved a room that was decorated in 40s style with a word written in coffee on the wall.

5years later i am working in an upstairs storeroom at a shop and realise it’s the room from my dreams, even the word written in coffee is on the wall.

I seem to have precognative dreams from time to time. They aren’t just coincidential similarities, they seem to be exact in the way the real event happens compared to the dream. These however are rare, and it seem like the event may happen months after the dream.

Native American shamans could do it. There’s no reason to believe its impossible to have a precog dream, maybe even intentionally. Does anybody know any elder native americans who can teach us their dream skills?
