Dream-induced clumsiness

Something really annoying I find in some of my dreams, both lucid and normal, is an extreme clumsiness that spontaneously comes over me and makes a seemingly simple task nearly impossible. For example, just last night, I had a dream in which I went to flip a light switch. As I went for it, I found I couldn’t balance and fell against the wall, then had to strain my neck as I tried to reach for it, missing repeatedly, and when I almost had it, I stumbled backwards through a door.

There are times when I’m only able to look down at the floor, and am unable to lift my head to see what’s going on around me.

Fortunately, this doesn’t strike very often, and pretty much happens only in dreams with low-vividness, but its still very unpleasant, especially when I’m lucid and trying to explore.

Does this ever happen to you?

Yeah, this has happened to me on occasion.

The most vivid instance I can remember was during a WILD. After the transition, I sort of landed in my bedroom on the floor somewhere (like I was dropped from the sky or another dimension) and I was really disoriented. My senses were distorted and my balance was all flaky. I tried to turn on the TV, but it failed (although not due to any clumsiness). I woke up soon after that.

Doesn’t happen a lot, though. Hasn’t happened this year (yet).
