Dream Journal

I’m sorry if this is a frequently asked question, I tried searching for this, but my internet is screwed up. Anyways, I’ve been trying to improve my dream recall by writing my dreams down when I wake up in the morning. I have morning classes to get to so I try to jot them down before I go. Yet, I find this increasingly difficult when I wake up because by the time I get up to turn on the light or turn off the alarm and write down my dream, 95% of the dream is gone already. I do have my dream journal right next to my bed when I wake. I’ve even had times when I’ve woke up and then fall asleep without realizing it and I would have dreams about writing down my dream in my dream journal. Is there any tips to help find a more effective way of writing down my dreams? Thanks.

i know what you mean about most of the dream being gone. i know that the more I journal the more vivid my dreams become and the easier they are to remember. Also, do RC’s as soon as u wake up because if you have an FA (false awakening) then you can do an RC and become lucid- and have some fun!
