Dream journals (School causing problems)

What are us chumps in school suppose to do to improve dream recall? I’m wakin up by blankets being pulled off of me and parents yelling that I’m late, so by that point I’ve already forgottin my dream. Even if I remembered my dreams after that I wouldn’t have time to write them down, so what should I do to get a grasp of what’s going on inside my head while I’m asleep and how to control it?

P.S. Getting up earlier is not something within possibility lol

Appended “(School causing problems)” to the title to distinguish it from an earlier topic with the same name. :dragon:

Well here are some tips that you can do to find some time to actually remember your dreams.

You can keep a notepad and a pen near your bed so that if you wake up during the night and remember something you can write it down then.
Also, you can sleep in the afternoon for an hour or so. Without the urge to wake up for school, you might find that dream recall will come easier.
Or waking up five minutes before your parents bust in your room to wake you up is also an option. Five minutes isn’t a lot if it helps you remember all the great dreams you would’ve otherwise forgotten.

Finally, if you can’t manage to do any of these, you can always try remembering your dreams on the weekends, since there’s no school then. Or during the Christmas break. If you remember a bunch of your dreams then, you will find it easier to remember your dreams in your normal schedule.

Hope that helps!

Thanks man! For some reason I got the idea you kind of had to write down every dream you have every night to improve recall correctly.

Any more advice would be appreciated

I used to get woken up in much the same way  I would strain to remember them while going through the auto-pilot morning routine, then write them down while riding in the car (my journals from that time had super messy handwriting.)

i’m still in school so it seems like after i wake up i don’t have nearly enough time to write down all my dreams before i have to get out the door for school. even if i only remember one dream i can take anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes to write it down(i like to include details), and by the time i finish writing down a whole night’s worth of dreams i’m late for school. and using an alarm to wake up earlier isn’t really an option for me since i don’t remember dreams nearly as well if i’m woken up artificially and that would do more harm than good. sometimes if i don’t finish writing the dreams down that morning i can take my dream jounal with me and finish there. i think the best thing to do is just to, before you even get out of bed just lay there and keep your eyes closed and try to remember as much of the dreams as you can, and then try to spend that whole morning trying to think about and commit the dreams to memory.
