Dream recall failure with LDs

I just had my 5th LD yesterday. It was my longest one yet; it was the first time I actually got to do something other than try to stop the dream from fading (and fail). It lasted a good long while. There’s one major problem, though: I barely remember the LD at all! Just about all I remember is waking up after it and being amazed that I finally had a good, long LD where I didn’t wake up immediately, and tried to think and recall the dream right then so I wouldn’t forget it, and went back to sleep. However, after I woke up later, the only memory of the LD itself I had was vague memories of flying and “doing stuff”.

Normally, my dream recall ranges from just OK to pretty good; in fact, on that same night I had two extremely vivid non-lucid dreams that I still remember well (one before the LD, and one after). However, it seems like whenever I have an LD, I have some sort of problem remembering it! In fact, in all of my previous 4 LDs, I’ve never been able to remember what caused me to become lucid; all I remember is actually BEING lucid. I wonder why, exactly, my dream recall seems to fail when I have an LD? Does anyone have, or has had, similar problems?

Its not a big problem, put some pencil and paper beside your bed and jot down a few keynotes of your lucid experiences after you wake up (so, not during a FA ). What you can also try is to keep remembering yourself in the LD that you will be remembering all the details after waking up. Good luck .

Same problem here. I’ve had 2 LD’s this night. I just recall one.

Sometimes, lucidity happens randomly. Then it seems there is no special cause to it: you just become lucid.
