Here’s something I realized and maybe it will help some of you who have trouble stabilizing your dream once you become lucid.
I’ve started practicing RC during the day differently than stated.
When ‘understanding’ or ‘asking if’ I’m dreaming, instead of doing an RC, I first rubbed my hands (a method already proven in my previous LDs). Only then after rubbing my hands, did I perform an RC. Tonight it payed off. I did the exact same thing once I realized I was dreaming. It was a long dream that was about to end, and I realized I was dreaming. Immediately rubbing my hands, the dream ended, and I saw only black as if my eyes are closed, But I didn’t wake up like usually in such a case. I knew my eyes’ state had no relevance in a dream, so like I read once, I just waited, and thought to myself, what would I like to dream about. I thought about blue, sky maybe water, and all of the sudden a dream started forming underneath me in which I was swimming.
If I have strength, I’ll translate it all to my DJ.
So we just had it all wrong. Next time if your dream fades quickly, don’t waste time on RC. stabilize it immediately, then do an RC.
Good idea and even if the original dream was fairly stable, rubbing your hands is always a good thing to do. Might help with the excitement factor once realising it’s a dream when doing the RC afterwards.
I had a very long and complicated dream during the the early morning hours.
Towards the end of the dream I realized I was dreaming, and everything went dark again. Rubbing my hands first thing, staying calm, and remembering this is a dream, helped me produce a pretty lucid dream that lasted several minutes after the end of the dream.
I also remembered one of my tasks in my to do list.
